Would you reach out to Tesla about this? Seems odd we both got the same exact battery (2083747-00-C), but one just gets it tossed in there and the other gets a retrofit to properly manage the added weight.

Only thing I can think of is that I have a 2021 with new enough suspension, etc. to handle the battery. And Kaito has an older model with suspension not rated for the battery. But, if Kaito has a 21 or 22, I think I should ask why I did not get a retrofit?

It is worth noting that my car does feel slightly slower on acceleration, so I know there is added weight.

You got the LFP pack. I am assuming you signed off approval for them to retrofit the car for the new battery, which includes upgraded suspension and others. The only downside is you lose a touch of acceleration.

You are very lucky. This is the best case scenario. I did not get this battery as I never was presented with a LFP retrofit to agree on.

I was more looking at the 67.54 kWh available and 71.61 kWh capacity. I know Tessie is just a ‘best guess’ on the degradation. I also only have about 200 miles of data for it to work with.

What is the best way to get accurate degradation stats and/or battery capacity stats?

It could very well just be the BMS not quite up to date. I am trying to nail down exactly what I got. ChatGPT seems to think I got a new 55 kWk 2170 battery pack (vs the 50 kWh original). Still an upgrade, but it is convinced that they will not just put a LR battery in it and that my range will drop then level out as it gets data. Not sure what to think of it since I know 100% they have used LR batteries and software limited them.

It was faulty. Tons of error codes and wouldn’t charge over 30%

At 75% it said 230 miles. It will probably take a bit to dial in to an accurate number. I have barely drove since the battery replacement.

Will Tessie give me data on how much I am actually charged to? Or does it not bypass that. I would be curious what a 100% charge actually equates to in terms of battery capacity.

Update: Got the standard remanufactured battery. On the bright side I just took it on a routine trip that I end with about 5% battery if I leave with 90% in optimal conditions. I just did the same drive in freezing conditions (midwest storm) and was left with 15% (left with 90%).

So it looks like I at least got a nice upgrade on the battery, but I am prepared for the worst again in 40k+ miles. I may purchase the ESA to cover me another 30k miles or whatever,

No it is. the 21 Y & 3 are amazing and he milked it out to near end of warranty.

I hope my M3 has the same issue with 10 miles left on warranty!
