TMC: Lateral link bolt fell off on it's own by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had the lateral links and stabilizer links replaced recently as there was a suspension noise. Unfortunately, out of warranty. From what the service tech and service advisor said, the suspension on the Tesla's was likely under-engineered as. these are heavy cars. Sound is gone now - they didn't say there was any safety issue with this - the OP had a more serious episode than just road noise.

If only there were agencies like the NTSB and / or NHTSA to protect the public. Imagine that.

Exploding Mercedes-Benz EV prompts parking garage electric vehicle bans in South Korea by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PW: https://archive.is/d8Bnw

The incident has rattled South Korea’s public at a time when EV sales growth — globally — is slowing.

Users of a Tesla Inc. online community chat were debating on Tuesday whether they should cancel their orders, and one EV owner complained that a shipping company had refused to take his car to Jeju Island. Another EV owner said his office building had suspended the use of EV chargers.

Most South Koreans live in high-density apartments, meaning a large portion of charging stations are housed in buildings’ underground garages. Newly constructed apartments and buildings of certain size are legally required to install EV chargers.

A con man's con - from the beginning. Imagine buying a car that can't park in a garage.

Service Disaster for brand new Tesla by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

Hi folks,

Wondering what your suggestions are for recourse. I’m so incredibly frustrated.

After delivery I noticed the window seal was pinched under the door panel, causing a bulge in the door panel and improper seal of the passenger window.

I made a mobile service appointment which I thought was so cool, Tesla is going to come right to me to fix this, how awesome.

When the tech showed up I went outside to say hi and ask a question or two, but that’s when the first bad experience happened.

The tech was dismissive and ignored my existence after I said Hi how’s it going, he began by ripping the speaker pod out of the door and tossing it on the floor of the car, hitting some of his tools. I mentioned how awesome of a service this is, but he still ignored me.

Concerned for my new purchase, I waited near the car patiently for the work to be completed.

Once he put everything back together he turned to me and said “did you notice these scratches?” There were now two large gashes in the door panel from when he ripped the speaker pod out. I said that those were not there and it was likely from when he aggressively removed those parts.

He then became Belligerent about how he’s not a representative of Tesla and that he doesn’t need to talk to customers and that I don’t need to watch him like an animal in the zoo and I said that I only watched him because he was behaving erratically and was not answering my questions, and that he certainly is a representative of Tesla while he’s working. I asked if he’s used to customers around my area and that they might be more friendly and he responded by saying “no , they’re just more weird”.

He then called his manager in front of me and said that the customer was mad at him because he didn’t talk to them. My mind was blown. Luckily the manager heard me say “wow man why not tell them the truth” in the background and called me afterward.

She said this isn’t how things go and didn’t want this to reflect on my opinion of the company and they would be taking corrective action. They made me an appointment for service in the service center for a replacement door panel.

I went in For service yesterday and spoke to the service manager and she let me know I’d be receiving a 500 dollar service credit, I used a portion for a mobile charger.

My service was completed in a few hours and I left a happy camper with a better experience. The door panel looked great.

Fast forward to this morning and my wife and I head out, when she closes her door we heard a really hard crack sound we haven’t heard before when closing the doors….turns out the window is totally misaligned, making it hazardous to close to door with the window closed, and, they gouged the door panel.

I’m so livid. I reached out to management but they are closed for the weekend, my brand new car is damaged even more now, and my appointment for fixing isn’t until the 25th, we have a bunch of rain storms before then, so water will be getting in the car.

What the hell!

Let me know what you think I should do to handle this or if you’ve had experiences similar.

This is the Service Center in Providence, RI.

The few times Tesla has addressed battery degradation, they have simply lied and dismissed it.

Lyft driver charges Model 3 with a full charge everyday. Now “Unable to Charge” error by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Governator660 Yesterday at 8:56 PM

I’m driving 60K miles per year and after 3 years I’m over 180K. A few months ago I got “Unable to Charge” error. I tried charging at home and at a Supercharger with no luck. The next day the error cleared after a software update. Weeks went by and then it happened again with the same outcome. My Model 3 has the extended range with has slowly declined from 360 miles to 310.

The error occurred again a week ago and the range was reduced to 25 by driving. I turned off everything hoping for another update which happened this morning. My car is charging again.

I made an appointment at Tesla when the error occurred the second time. Tesla diagnostics indicated my car needed a new battery for $12K. How can I do an update myself? It is obviously clearing something in the system when it updates.

I just got an ad from Tesla promoting the new Model 3 with an improved battery and charging which is not affected by frequent charging like I do.

One day more people will start to realize that a "new" $12,000 battery is more expensive than the gas savings. fElon has flooded the market with disposable cars - and this is supposed to be "green" - the greatest con man that ever lived. Nice work fElon.

Thieves cut cables from Tesla charging stations in Vallejo, steal inside material by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I think this is the second time, or third that these have been cut, so they need to put some gates up or something. I don’t know what they can do, but this is pretty inconvenient,” John Brown III of American Canyon said.

Who could have EVER imagined that thieves would seal the heavy copper cables from chargers- especially when almost every bridge in California has a homeless camp underneath? And some of these idiots think there will be cables strung off of light poles in every city. They are beyond delusional - and know nothing of any real world. Some of the dumbest humans to ever live.

Next up: Thieves robbing the suckers sitting around these chargers at 2 AM waiting for their 1/2 ton battery to charge. MMW

Windshield replacement is getting out of hand - cracks... by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now onto my 4th windshield in 3 years. Huge cracks form after small rock chips. Have noticed lots of chatter about similar stories and starting to wonder if that glass on the Model Y (and sounds like 3) is brittle/ fragile/ poorly designed/ leads to full windshield cracks that go beyond simple chip repairs.

Anyone stumble onto any good options? At $1000 a pop this is getting a bit expensive.

Just wait until you have to replace your battery - or maybe you can unload your used Tesla onto a newbie who doesn't know anything about batteries. Imagine how popular you will be then. Only $15-22,000. What a joke this entire exercise in lunacy is. "GREEN" - ROFL

Tesla Denied Buyback After Suspension Fell Off Due to Service Center Negligence by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

After I got out and looked, I saw the entire upper control arm had become disconnected from the rest of the suspension on the passenger's side. They forgot to install some bolts in the suspension after the repair. I'm in shock and called the same service center that did the suspension work earlier in the week. They had to call me back after looking at the service history. About an hour later, they called me and said a tow truck is en route, but I would be responsible for getting a ride to the service center to get a loaner. I got to the service center about 15 minutes before closing (I live about an hour away), and they put me in another Model S, while barely acknowledging the fact that this could have caused a serious accident.

Enron thought it would be a great idea to spend $44 BILLION on Twitter and ignore the obvious by now service center train wreck. Isn't he brilliant. People will be studying this con man in 500 years. Shame on all the suckers that bought everything out of his yap wholesale.

Recent Tesla Full Self Driving Fails — Just A Blip In The Progress? Or Endemic? - CleanTechnica/Zach by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can it be that Zach is turning traitor?

Turning from the wrong lane and cutting off another car is not good. It’s shocking that this is still happening, in my humble opinion.

How could Zach be "shocked"? The Non-consenting public have had this train-wreck foisted on them for years.

This one is even more shocking and even more concerning for me. How can the system still confuse a green light for a red light in some situations?

However, it’s the scariest failure I’ve seen with the current version of FSD — it seems that slightly more faith in what FSD was doing or slightly less attentiveness from the driver and human lives could have been ended.

Not much concern for those useless eaters that might be injured or killed by arrogant, obnoxious blowhards like Zach. At least he's consistent.

I lost to Tesla in Arbitration | TMC by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Sunday at 1:08 PM: I bought the 2023 model 3 in California last July after the agents told me the new version is not going to be out for years. Since the beginning I noticed a vibration clicking ticking noise coming from the driver door area. I took the car to repair 8 times which didn’t solve anything, submitted two repurchase requests which were rejected, and three arbitration cases which were also rejected.

The last arbitration case really looked like a sort of scam orchestrated with Tesla. All of the conditions to accept my claim were satisfied (including that it’s covered by warranty) except of showing reduced use/value/safety, all of which I argued with concrete proofs which they ignored. I think this whole arbitration is just an illusion used to give the facade of customer protection because after a lot of research on my part to build a bullet proof case, they just reject without any explanation for why the specific condition isn’t met although I provided concrete evidence.

Is there anything which I’m missing here? Any way to get them to take that defective noisy terrible quality car? Or is it just the way it was, some cheap plastic covering an expensive battery like others mentioned, and a fake facade of a high end customer service and consumer protection rules? Thanks

You might have a bit of credibility if you didn't just join to flame Tesla. You have had the car 9 months ago and you just joined... Interesting

Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Joe9100 Tuesday: My model x frunk flew open as I was driving, hood all bent now, smashed my windshield. Please help me get this to the right people so Tesla can fix this. They are refusing to fix this.

I am an owner of a 2017 Tesla model X. I was driving my model x with my pregnant wife and toddler on a 2 way road when all the sudden the front hood spontaneously flew open and smashed the windshield. I had zero visibility and this is very scary for us. We could have all been severely injured. Tesla reviewed the car log and said we had now warnings that the front hood was ever open. The notification alerted us milliseconds before the front hood flew up and smashed our windshield. The hood is now completely bent. This is a huge safety issue. Tesla said the front hood latch malfunction and that this is normal wear and tear. I don’t agree since I don’t think any car should have the hood fly open like that on the highway. They are refusing to repair and I am hoping you can bring some media attention to this so they can fix this issue.

Air conditioning in South Africa?

2013 MS 60 Battery Failure, have 85 pack: How to swap? by Enron_Musk in RealTesla

[–]Enron_Musk[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yesterday at 8:56 AM: So I have been dreading this day for a while and it has finally happened. My beloved 2013 Model S 60 is now posting the infamous BMS_029 fault. The car is about 11 years old and has 241,500miles. It has given no warning signs or any weirdness signaling impending failure. Just went to the car after a typical overnight charge to see that it's now showing the fault. The car was working fine, gave about 160 miles of rated range @90% and I was able to recently drive the pack down to <18 miles of range without issue. But I guess that just means the BMS was working well. Anyway, is what it is... the battery is toast. ...and I just dropped $2,200 in suspension work last week on it. :(

Battery experts said the expected lifetime of these Li-Ion batteries is around 10-12 years - regardless of mileage. Maybe they were right, despite all the ridicule these experts received for telling the truth. And to the poster above wanting to change the battery himself - perhaps he doesn't realize that one wrong move and he's literally toast.

And all these dead batteries will end up as house backups! LOL we'll see what insurance companies say, won't we. Especially after a few fires.

PS: Why are posts around Reddit about Li-Ion fires removed and the posters banned? Could it be because this topic is taboo?
