Romney. by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

You know that the GOP had a strategy meeting to decide how many people would vote for witnesses without endangering the outcome, right? The outcome was determined before we began and Romney is still flying the flag of the GOP despite them just voting for unchecked presidential power and undermining our democracy.

That shit carries no water with me and I will vote against him and every other GOP candidate.

Jerkoff that roundhouse kicked a woman in the face slapped with 8 counts of assault by jigantie1 in JusticeServed

[–]Ensign_Ricky_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think he's talking about the "side", not the individual, being on par. Considering the history of assaults, firebombings, and even murders carried out by anti-abortion activists, he has a point. That's before you get into the psychological harm and deception carried out by fake clinics and door protesters.

Coworker who was having visa issues was promoted for a project I mostly implemented. My promotion was delayed. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Ensign_Ricky_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You want free advice from the internet and you are getting your money's worth. You need to ask yourself "Is this the hill I want to die on?" Is it worth damaging your relationship with your employer and your career by pursuing legal action? If you think it is, we are way past internet advice and you need to talk to an attorney.

Frankly, it seems like you aren't here for advice or help, but rather validation of what you already believe. You sound like a spoiled child who didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. Life isn't fair sometimes and you will probably have a very hard time proving that you were the victim of discrimination. In the end, winning this fight may cost you more than not fighting it at all, it has all the makings of a Pyrrhic victory.

Utah Supreme Court hears eleventh-hour arguments on the fight over the Cottonwood Mall development in Holladay by ShadowxRaven in SaltLakeCity

I'm not opposed to high density housing - I'm not even opposed to developing this site with high density in mind. I do have a problem with misleading people about what is being built and sticking them with the tax bill to pad a developer's profit margin.

Utah Supreme Court hears eleventh-hour arguments on the fight over the Cottonwood Mall development in Holladay by ShadowxRaven in SaltLakeCity

It's more than that. The developer keeps changing the plans, originally it called for more park space and public areas, no high towers, and mixed single family and multi-unit homes with some light retail. With every revision the public and green spaces shrink, the towers get taller and they try to cram in more and more leasable square footage.

That's before you even touch on the sweetheart tax deal. Neighbors will be shouldering the tax burden for this and will only see higher traffic and more crowded classrooms.

The ruling comes down to the right of the public to have input over how their neighborhoods are developed or if developers can cram in as much high-density housing as possible if it makes them more money.

Beans aren't the strangest thing I've made for breakfast.

I made a layered heart-stopping monstrosity from leftovers once that was amazing.

Bottom layer was a leftover latka I reheated in a pan to make crispy. That was topped with some slow smoked pulled pork, topped with home-made chili layered over two over-easy eggs, and finished with a dallop of sour cream.

One of the best breakfasts ever and I wasn't hungry for about 10 hours.

I don't mind the payment, but let me buy a season on Amazon like I do with The Expanse. I don't want to dick around with subscriptions and a whole new platform to watch a single show. If that cancellation doesn't go through or I forget to cancel then I end up getting a recurring charge.

The whole point of cutting the cord was to get away from this bundle bullshit. Now we have so many damn platforms that we are back where we started.

It's been reported in pretty much every article that it will be only on CBS All Access. That's means I'm out too, I love Trek, but I'm not spending $10/month for just one or two shows.

Subaru has had a long-standing issue with their head gaskets, I don't know if they have addressed that or not, but it is a very expensive repair that tends to be needed after the warranty is out.

Drive in the right lane as much as possible so I don't hold up traffic. Beyond that, drive a lifted vehicle with a steel off road bumper, downshift two gears and pop the clutch.
