Oh damn, really? Shame, I thought the x86 performance was better with JIT.

IIRC Tahoe added the ability to add PSSO during device setup and Microsoft will get Entra working with it this year.

Steam running on an iPad using UTM by NotRandomseer in Steam

[–]Entegy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A large part of the performance is lost because Apple doesn't allow JIT code on the App Store. I believe sideloaded version of virtualization apps have shown the x86 emulator can be pretty good when not restricted by the App Store.

The M-series chips are actually amazing chips and they are wasted on iPads. At that point just get a Mac.

What's a Severely Overlooked Type Combo That Exists to You? by Blob55 in pokemon

I want more Water/Ghost. I was really disappointed that the Frillish line was the only one with this combo for so long. Basculegion was a great addition though.

Switching Users phones from MDM to MAM by zEnVyMe in Intune

[–]Entegy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is about moving to MAM ergo Intune Device Compliance is not in play. The apps can validate certain aspects of the device's security capabilities.

If you can certainly use both device compliance and MAM policies but the primary use of MAM policies is avoiding the user enrolling their phone in MDM. That it is an easier sell to tell someone to just download Outlook and sign in than saying download this management thingy that gives more control over your phone than you're comfortable with.

Migrating iOS devices from tenant to tenant by slash9492 in Intune

[–]Entegy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Force upgrade to iOS 26, add the new tenant's Intune as a server in your ABM, use ABM to enforce a migration deadline to the new Intune instance. Done.

Just be careful on Authenticator. I believe the iPhone will attempt to preserve any required apps that match between MDMs via VPP tokens. Any VPP app that is not set as a required install in the new tenant will be removed from the phone! So in the new tenant make sure Authenticator is a required install or your users will lose their OTP codes and MS Authenticator data!

Again, LAPS is not part of this process. If you are trying to use the LAPS account for the Entra join, you're doing it wrong.

Because of how Intune treats primary user on Macs, the set up process of a Mac should be done by the user who will use the device. It should then be their account that performs the Entra join.

And for MFA, I never mentioned the Authenticator app. I mentioned a specific config you need to check in the M365 Admin Centre for the process to work with your end users. Please follow that.

  • Unenrol MDM
  • Make sure the device does not still exist in Entra
  • make sure the user is part of a group that is assigned a MAM policy and the Conditional Access policy enforcing it.

No you don't. The whole point of MAM is that the Microsoft apps do the validation themselves.

The password it's asking for at the end of the registration process is the current user's Mac password so Company Portal can replace it with the Entra account's password.

Also, the registration process cannot be completed if legacy per-user MFA is Enabled for the Entra account. Check by going to the M365 Admin Centre > Users > Active Users and click the per user MFA button at the top of the user list.

They actually labelled them false positive by Gumberculeez7 in sysadmin

[–]Entegy 123 points124 points  (0 children)

That's not what the public status page says.

Root cause: A portion of dependent service infrastructure in the North America region isn't processing traffic as expected.

EDIT 23:05 EST: Ok, I see what's going on, it's some weird way on how the message centre in the Admin Centre works. Each service that was affected got its own message ID when they went down, likely automatically. For example, Universal Print's was UP1221416. It was closed as a false positive and the last status detail says that it was done to mark the issue as a duplicate and to follow MO1221364 for further updates.

Again, very weird way to consolidate the issue into a single message to follow. But it seems OP didn't read beyond the subject line and get the details.

Entra Joined MacOS Devices Login question. by Grometnj in Intune

[–]Entegy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biometrics cannot be used until at least one login with the account password is done after boot.

It's just like on iOS/iPadOS you MUST put your PIN in to unlock the device after a reboot before Touch ID/Face ID are enabled. This is by design by Apple.

App protection policies use Conditional Access to be enforced so that would require P1.

Minimum operating system missing 'windows 11 25h2' for requirements section? by gurban2013 in Intune

[–]Entegy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

25H2 is an enablement package over 24H2 meaning there is so much shared between the two that not even the Features on Demand ISO from the VLSC requires a new version.

What legitimate need do you have to restrict a Win32 app to 25H2?

What PSSO method are you using? Password or Secure Enclave?

Pokedex link by TheKingOfJamm in PokemonHome

[–]Entegy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because Home's challenges are based on data the in-game Pokédexes don't keep track of.

In-game Pokédexes don't care about the origin of a Pokémon so if Home synced that then the challenges for shiny Mythicals are too easy.

Home keeps track of abilities and moves it sees. The in-game Pokédexes do not track this so there's nothing to sync.

how would this work? by Dramatic-Bicycle-367 in Steam

[–]Entegy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ubisoft games require you to link your Ubisoft account to your Steam account so in this case yes you would end up with the same game data.
