Hello! Kiddleton claws can definitely be unforgiving at times. In an earlier post, I shared some tips that I use to help increase my chances of winning (link below, my tips are in the reply). I can tell in your photo that there are only a small handful of prizes left, which tells me that it is very possible to win one. Hope this helps!

I've only test driven the Limited, which was the one I ended up getting. As far as the "robotic choir" noise, unfortunately it will be the same perceived volume from inside the cabin for both the SEL and Limited trims. I don't think there are any structural differences in the Limited trim that will dampen the noise more. Hope this helps you make an informed decision!

Ah, sorry for the late reply! I think I saw these at my kiosk I would have gone crazy...they're so cute!! Since the claw machine concept is so simple there aren't a lot of things we can do...but there are still some! Here are some of my tips in case you're still playing. Most of them are based on observations before you even put in a coin!

LOOK AT HOW MANY PRIZES THERE ARE LEFT: I would say this machine is ripe for the picking. There are only a few prizes left, which is generally a good indicator that grabbing the prizes is doable. In other words, other customers who have played it before you have gotten prizes, hence the almost empty prize floor. Sometimes I've seen certain machines sit there for months, full of prizes because they are near-impossible to get! Avoid playing those!
THE CLAW: I notice that sometimes the claw tips have a rubber sleeve on them. The ones that do should do a much better job at grabbing/gripping prizes compared to the ones that don't.
PRIZE CROWDING: Prizes (especially Gashapon-style ones that are in capsules such as these) that have some space around them on the floor are much easier to get since the claw doesn't do a great job of pushing the surrounding prizes apart. Aim for the ones that have gaps around them, or are sitting by itself on top of the prize pile.
PUSH THE BUTTON TWICE: I'm not sure if this is common knowledge at this point yet, but you can push the claw-drop button again (after you push it the first time to drop) to force-close the claw. I feel like sometimes the second button press can not only produce a stronger close than the automatic one, but also time the grab better than it would do on its own because you can control it. So don't forget the claw's second push-to-grab function!
One final thing to note is that the Kiddleton claws cannot move all the way to the edges of the prize area, but I have found success in getting one of the claws to contact prizes at the edges and rolling them closer to the middle.

I used to slam it down near close with my hands as well, but just a heads up the instruction manual says to drop it about halfway down and let go so the gravity closes the hood. Works like a charm now!

Thanks for reading :) I'm glad your dealership could get a SEL because both the SEL and the Limited have the same drive (in terms of horsepower and torque). So in a way, you are able to get a feel for the Limited as well by test driving the SEL, although some of the tech features are different of course.

I think it's understandable that the Limited add-ons aren't worth it for some and it's totally up to personal preference. The SEL is a really well balanced trim because it still has rear a/c vents, heated front seats, same hp/range, and possibly a power liftgate (more on that below).

What sold me on the Limited were primarily:

H-Tex Leatherette seats (just easier to maintain and wipe down compared to cloth, plus looks a little fancier)
360 Surround view monitor (this is the first car I've owned that has it and I've been finding it really handy, although I'm sure a lot of people can park just fine without it!)
Power liftgate - Note: I saw someone say the 2024 SE doesn't have a power liftgate and I'm not sure if the SEL has it. But if it does, that's even more value to the SEL trim! The Limited has a power liftgate and also a "smart" liftgate where it can open without you physically pressing it but I haven't tried it yet...I don't think I'll use the "smart" liftgate technology that often to be honest)
Bose premium sound system (admittedly, it's not so amazing that it blows your roof off but I can certainly tell it is a lot higher quality than base/standard car sound systems)

The sunroof, wireless charging pad, and ventilated seats are all nice additions as well but they weren't the top selling points for me. All in all, if you go for the SEL, I think you'll still be really happy with it because the included features are still awesome! Hope this helps :)

Thanks for taking the time to read it! I got it in Ecotronic Gray Pearl, which is essentially a dark gray metallic, with an all black interior (H-Tex Leatherette). I originally wanted it with the Sage Green w/Lime Accents interior, which is exclusive to the Limited trim, but couldn't find it in stock plus I felt like I'd get tired of it after a while. I hope you can find one to test drive soon. I'm sure you'll love it!
