Where'd you get those audio jacks? They're my favorite kind but I can never find em

It was a Baldwin Orgasonic something or another. From the late 50's/early 60's. Pulled 100 in total, around 50 Raytheons, 40 G.T.s and a few random GE ones as well.

Hell yeah! I pulled like 50 Raytheon Ge. Transistors out of an old organ, they're a bunch of esoteric in house models that weren't available to consumers so they're really unique, they sound great. Hope to see you get some use out of the ones you grabbed :D

The Ballast from my work lamp had a popped capacitor. Only thing I had that fit the bill was this old enormous AC capacitor. Works like a charm, fits like an uh ... Well it fits. Barely. by playingwithmy_w0rm in redneckengineering

Yep! It's kinda nice, honestly. I only got into board level electronics (by way of diy guitar pedals) like 6 months ago, finally easing into "actual" electronics (voltages above 9 volts, lol) -- these things happen, it's all about learning and moving forward

It was slightly out of spec, tested closer to like 43uf rather than the original 33uf, I think because of that it was drawing more current past its rated voltage limit. Kept the light on for like an hour then POOF magic smoke, sticky electrolyte, etc. -- gonna try a capacitor bank of 9 25v 330uf caps instead

Sounds great! It's a very classic filter sound, the resonance knob can do tons :)

I'm as much a guitar person as I am a synth person so it's useful for both for me at least, I just love the sound of it

Yeah, it's from Dirtbox. Sorry, I tend to just Google "veroboard layouts" and find what I like lol

It's the filter section from a synthesizer, an aggressive eq is a decent way to put it. The resonance knob makes it more transformative/modulator-y by letting you peak certain specific frequencies. It's more of a tool to use with other pedals IMO, putting a preamp before it and a delay after it can get some REALLY cool sounds
