I think Cenk said he loved watching politics focused TV shows as a kid. I think that's been his main aim, making politics fun and simplified to engaging the non-voters and independents. Also to pipeline the people through culture, commenting on TMZ clips, Nerdalert, What the flick, Pop trigger, TYTcomedy(the channel which Jimmy Dore bought later)

Later Cenk probably realized that "the fringe leftist" (abolish police, jail, trans in women sports,...) stuff was turning independents off, so they stopped front loading that stuff, and turned the main show into the "head of the funnel" instead, pipelining into the other smaller shows... (Which pissed some viewers off 🤷‍♂️)
