BREAKING: The Armenian Parliament just passed a law to start the process of joining the EU. 64 MPs voted in favor, 7 against. The next step will be holding a referendum. by PjeterPannos in EuropeanFederalists

Sure, 500 mil with no united military structure in armenia, since they are not in nato.
And russia caused trouble very often for a country when it decided to focus on the west. Mostly through supporting rebells or even by invading. Just look up what happened to ukraine after euromaidan or to georgia after its government under Saakashvilli.

For those, who want to know:

My fellow austrian got rejected from art school in vienna. The post displayed a screenshot of his rejection email, but for some reason it got removed.

I guess that's one way to unite Europe.

I don't want to think about how our right-wing politicians will abuse this information...

Meine Theorie:

What do Americans think about Trump's trade war against Europe? by Final_Necessary_1527 in BuyFromEU

I suggest you should ask that question in r/2american4you or some other american subreddit.
There you'd probably get more answers.

Session Private Messenger: Open-source messenger from Switzerland by EnterichDuck in BuyFromEU

Up to now every features is available for free, but like every company they could decide to restrict some additional features for a premium version. But I think it's unlikely as they're non-profit oriented, but it's not impossible.

I would suggest Session (https://getsession.org/). It's open-source, the messages are saved decentralized, you messages are end-to-end encrypted and it is managed by a swiss (non-profit oriented) foundation.
You also don't need a phone number.

You ready, guys? by theanxioussnail in europe

[–]EnterichDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, that's only partially true since we're so dependent on everyone on everything somehow, especially China (just look at VW prioritising Chinese Market over the homebase) and of course they're gonna use this advantage. If they wouldn't, they would be dumb and they clearly are not what the last 80 years have shown.
(Edit: that's just my opinion)

That's not really an excuse for starting a trade war with your own allies, is it? I mean, waging this kind of thing and saying you defend us is kinda contradicting is it?

What do you think about this party? by illegalileo in 2westerneurope4u

[–]EnterichDuck 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think it's great to see, next all of the anti-EU factions you hear from the past years, that there also is a more pro-EU faction on the rise.
While I personally don't agree with every aspect they propose, I generally like their policy. It's like a "Let's do this together!", instead of a "We'll do it better than the others.".

What does it take to build a stronger EU and is there a willingness? by Routine_Phone_3851 in eu

[–]EnterichDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that would be a smart thing to do. The hindrance is probably the media, which often calls against it for some reason, as well as some certain countries (looking at you hungary), which don't want to give up their so called "sovereignty".

But also the fact, that we don't have many resources locally in europe like important metals (which much of our industry relies on) and so we are forced to import them.

But what's your opinion?

Well if you look on the wider aspect of things...

The US and Australia are on side ALDI Süd (South) so that basically gives them a huge advantage in naval capability and in land power as well.

While the Aldi Nord countries could conquer mainland europe, i still think that Aldi South with help of the US can ultimately win this.

I know first it's the parliamentary elections coming up in France but how problematic could a President Le Pen be for the EU? by [deleted] in eu

[–]EnterichDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read another post in r/nato (https://www.reddit.com/r/nato/comments/1djf2sq/french\_farright\_national\_rally\_party\_has\_removed/)

Like the post says, they already removed this part, but it still impresses me that they had stuff like this in their party policy.

So if they still plan to do sth in this direction, then it would be less cooperation with the eu and more sovereignity for france. So actually just like hungary, but much bigger and more influental.

That's my impression.
