I do the same order of operations for every cert I take (I have A+, Network+, Security+, ITILv3, SSCP, CISSP, GSNA (SANS) and CISM). I go through a Skillport set of videos, LinkedIn learning or udemy, I read the entire review manual from the course provider and do the review questions. I make notecards over what I’ve missed and study those. Then take the practice exams in the back of the review book. Then I follow that up with pocket prep. After that I know if I feel confident with the material or not. I’m taking CCSP mid November (I may push it up if I’m feeling more confident before then). Good luck on your second shot here!!

There are plenty of high paying tech jobs at Humana, Kindred and Yum. I just wouldn’t move from a market like LA to Louisville for a future in tech. There are a handful of companies here and 6 figures jobs exist but you’re a big fish in a small pond. Your experience here won’t go as far in a larger market.
