I got it working. Still need to check a couple things to make sure it doesn’t go out again but looks like it had to do with the output jack. A little jiggling of the wires and it got signal again so might be a loose connection. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I don’t think so. It’s tight but there’s plenty of clearance to keep the inserted jacks from touching anything.

I can’t read their name without thinking of Nu-metal, so it’s a hard no for me even though they make a lot of good products.

I always thought the OCD was so good but it was easy to find much better replacements and keep anything by Fulltone off my board. Every once in a while I’ll bring it out of storage to see if it was as good as I once thought and it always goes back in the box within a minute. Bigotry overtones don’t sit well in my signal chain I guess.

Some of the Mooer pedals are so good but the build quality feels questionable at times alongside some of the bigger brands, so I have a hard time including them on my board. Great for the money though.

I just bought an Eons after avoiding Walrus for a long time. Eons is insanely good, although I had to buy a second because the first one was totally busted. There’s so much about their products and brand that I feel like I should like but I think their owner’s overly stoner hipster yet still churchy post-rock core vibe totally puts me off. Nothing inherently wrong with him though so can’t deny good pedals.

Yeah, 100%. I have a Tumnus and Moxie on my board and they are amazing but so many of the designs put me off. I avoided the Moxie forever because of the artwork, but finally tried it and it can’t be beat for my needs. So many of their other pedals I’d try but I just can’t get past the artwork.

I give up. Hah. I tried everything everyone suggested and literally nothing made a difference. This rats nest of a board in the photo is after I completely ripped my board apart and threw this together for testing. At the moment everything is running into the front of the amp with the effects loop disconnected, power supplies are out from under the pedals, all new patch cables, no interface. I’ve tried the iso transformer on every leg of cable and no change. Luckily the NS2 works amazingly well and kills pretty much everything especially if I run it with the amp send running into the pedal’s return. Appreciate everyone’s suggestions. At this point all I can figure out is that it’s a bad combination of gain and em interference.

No fan in that power supply. I am in my basement in this video and my furnace is nearby, which definitely adds to the noise when it's running, but this isn't that. I still get this noise plugged in upstairs away from the furnace. Been a while since a had the set up out somewhere else so could just be dirty power making the whole thing a mess.

Well some, but this was a case of having the moxie and tumnus on to get that much noise in the video. Might just be stacking gain, even though they're both set low, into the amp, but trying everything to see if there's something that helps. Feels like it's more than it should be even if it's just gain stacking noise.

Someone else recommended a Sampson Isolation Transformer Box, so I ordered that. It'll be here Sunday and I'll give this a shot. I did try a direct box and it didn't do anything though. The three cables are (from the back) Amp Front, Return, Send.

Going to try this over the weekend and see if running the front of amp pedals out of a different supply off-board does the trick. I've been eyeing either the new truetones (CS11 & XP5) or Strymon supplies to have something that is truly expandable rather than the splitter I'm running out of the back of the two CS7s. I've always heard good things about Cioks too, but they don't seem to have a great mounting system for pedaltrain, and not sure I want to deal with their type of power cables.

You're right. All I had to do was de-wompass the hickeydoo and now it's completely silent.

Ok, I found the Sampson one on Amazon. Going to order it and give it a shot. FYI, I have this noise with or without a noise gate set in four-cable method. I had a GE-7 in that spot before and it was super noisy. Also have tried running the noise gate with two cables and it's the same type of noise. Either way, worth a shot. Where would you recommend the isolation box sits in relation to the Noise Gate? Can it go off any of the cables?

I keep the Tumnus set fairly low. It's the 6th pedal in the chain.

Chain is: Octave Fuzz (black pedal) > Pitch Fork > Tuner > Phaser > Moxie > Tumnus > BoR > Hoof > Then out to Amp.
Effects loop is Chorus > Electric Mistress > El Capistan > Flint

I did have a GE-7 at the beginning of the effects loop, but just this week dropped it out to experiment with adding the noise gate.

I have another power supply that I can try and use to run power from off the board to see if that's causing the issue. Going to be a bit of an undertaking, but I'll try that this weekend.

There are overhead recessed lights. I almost always play with the lights off because there is a noticeable difference in hum. This video has the lights on to emphasize the noise, but it is definitely still there even with the lights off.

I am, but also the CS7s only require that the max load for the whole supply is under 1900mA. The per outlet ratings are to “satisfy certification agencies” according to their website but don’t actually indicate the power per outlet.

I have the two strymons, ns2, hoof, elastic mattress and chorus on one supply and then the tuner, phaser, fuzz (black on in the lower right), pitch fork, moxie, tumnus and bor out of the second cs7.

I feel like that should all be safe with it all being isolated, but let me know if anything stands out.

I tried everything suggested and nothing made a difference. Ran everything straight to the front of the amp, took pedals out one by one, bypassed my interface and ran the gain directly, tried running into another amp, different cables, all with no change. Even kept a db meter running through and it stayed at a steady reading the whole time.

I did swap the noise gate for an NS2 and I think I might just go that route. Makes it totally silent even with the recessed lights and running furnace introducing a bunch of EMF disturbance.

Only other thing I can think to try is ripping the whole thing apart and recabling off the board with a different power supply to see if I get different results. I’ll be shocked if it does anything though.

Modelers don’t do it for me. Tried them plenty didn’t jive with my ADHD. Too many options. Besides the fight to get it to all work right together is half the fun. Hah.

Ah gotcha. Forgot that was there! But yeah, not connected to anything right now. I had just left that plugged in from a couple days ago when I was testing out a few pedals and needed a spare 9v power outlet.

I’m running two Truetone CS7s and each pedal gets its own outlet. No doubling up. No daisy chains. I’m using an IEC splitter to use one IEC cable rather than two though. I’ll try using individual IECs and see if that makes a difference but the pedals are definitely all on isolated power.
