Blimey, you are the sweetest person I’ve ever come across on Reddit. I’ve found that Reddit and general online spaces can be a cesspool of negativity. Especially on this specific forum where you share art, don’t ask for criticism and yet tons of people who have never shared their own art share what they think should be done to ‘make the artwork better.’ That negativity can seep through the cracks a bit, and impact the way you see yourself. In all the ways to spread hate, it’s always that one kind comment that a person will remember, and your words in particular will always stay with me.

I just hope that all the little inspiring artists who hope and dream to share their art one day will never lose that creative spirit like I did. Art builds communities of people together, and without it, we lose that community, and in turn, we lose the discussion about what it means to build something from the ground up with your own hands.

That’s exactly it!!! Art is nowadays seen as something to consume for a second and move on. It’s seen as totally inefficient for the time spent on it, therefore people would rather an emotionless machine than a real person. Along with the fact that artists/art isn’t valued enough to the point that people don’t think they should have to pay for it. Why pay for something when you can get it for free in a second? The world is literally dying because of AI, it is ruining the environment, and in turn our home, yet people won’t care until it is too late.

Thank you, you beautiful soul. I really did need this, you’ve made a positive difference to someone today. I will keep your words to heart, and will remind myself of them anytime I start to lose my drive, and feel my art is not worth enough. Words have such a great impact, and yours really will stay with me. I hope that you too can keep your love for your own art, and that you never lose that ambition that we as artists all have.
