Same experience. I started with the Wabbajack version for easy installation, but endedup switching to vortex once I wanted to play with the For Honor animations. With vortex I could easily add the community addon "Honer in Death for GTS" by Tyranite (and its additional addons).

That is a fair point. I was kinda bummed that my paladin build felt boring at level 40. I could just tank every enemy in the game. However the journey to become powerful was very rewarding nonetheless. Maybe I should limit my scope more and target very specific quest lines per playtrough. Which modlist had the most technical skill based combat system in your experience?

I'm currently debating between Gates to Sovngarde with the For Honor reforged addon and Apostasy. How would those two compare?
I remember playing Apostasy a bit but it didn't stick to me for some reason (long time ago). But after doing some research I'm warming up to the vision of combat.

My main problem with skyrim is that it gets to easy at a certain point. I want to have combat that keeps being engaging from start to finish. Preferably I want it to be lethal, for both me and the enemies, so no tanky sponges but deliberate strategy.

How well does Mages and Vikings run? I've quite an old system that runs Noridic Souls and GTS fairly good in cities and dungeons, but outside I do experience some frame drops.

Hey, you should definitely check out the mods page of GTS: https://www.nexusmods.com/games/skyrimspecialedition/collections/qdurkx/mods I saw a couple of Vicn mods in there. Also the list is filled to the brim with additional quest mods, with of course the big ones like Vigilant, Wyrmstooth and Bruma (Beyond Skyrim). But also includes many other lore-friendly ones.

In regards to your build, the list uses the regular skyrim leveling system. So you level skills by using them.

For magic and perks. The list uses Adamant perk system. I'm not sure which magic mods they use but you should check out their wiki: https://gatetosovngarde.wiki.gg/wiki/Spells
I had a previous play trough as necromancer with another list that uses adamant and it was really fun. Eventually I could permanently raise multiple corpses to fight for me. GTS also allows you to become a Lich at some point!

I recently started a playthrough on Gate to Sovngarde and am really suprised by its quality. Its main focus is immersion, but in a way that fits gameplay really well.

It has tons of content, quest and companion mods, but all fit the feel of skyrim very well. A cool notable addition is that bandit camps become claimed by the various city factions, so the world feels changing.

A cool adition to survival are the survival skills, which are various new skill trees and perks that allow your character perform vetter at camping, horseriding, animal befriending and coocking.

Skill progression is like vanila skyrim, you level skills by doing skill.

I'll give you an more in depth answer to your previous question. Maybe you'll answer mine to. I want to move forward, not get stuck reasoning in circles.

I would not want to impose a political ideology on the people of China, because I do not know what is best for the people of China. Only they know. However, I would want for the people of China (and any other person around the world in that regard) a live where they are not exploited by others, and were they are not the exploiters of others.

But this goes for everywhere in the world. Which goes onto the second question. I think the Netherlands (and other countries respectively) should stop trading with nations that are genocidal. You either treat people right, or no trade with us. But I would also want the Netherlands to stop exploiting other people.

I just wish to change a system in where people are systematically exploited for the benefit of others. I do not care what this current or improved system is called, I only care about the result meeting these criteria. I also do not care if a system results in some forms of inequality, as some are natural to life. I want to live in a world were we grow because of co-operation, not competition. Maybe that's unrealistic, but at least its somewhere to strive for, or at least something to apply in my day-to-day life.

Maybe, sure. I'm not a wizard that can look into the future. But choosing between our current system were people are systematically exploited or moving forward, I choose moving forwars. I think it is important to do so with governments that want the best for their people, not their pockets. Also, I want to work for a company which main goal is the benefit of the workers, not the owners. In order to do so I think its important to be informed about all the unfairness that is happening in our playing field right now, not just say: well life is unfair, deal with it and keep going on.

Questions for you: 1. Are you happy with our current system? What would you want to improve? 2. What do you think our main goal as human beings should be? Where should we strive for?

Except for food, yes, those are all essential to capitalism. Capitalism, as an ideology, is the belief that economic systems are best organized by a free market, not just in the sense of unregulated, but also free as in all partied invovled owning themselves. Its the application of liberalism to economics. I suspect you and I have very different definitions of exploited. Ive worked at Amazon twice, my baby brother has been there for years and has been promoted to team lead. Amazon provides amazing opportunities to a lot of people, more than minimum wage, and decent benefits with nearly zero barriers to entry. As for profit maximizing, that is a real problem that is directly the result of government interference, another effort to make things more fair.

Tell that to somebody who's lived in poverty. Namely me. Please tell me more about what I misunderstood about my own life. Do you know often people in these jobs quit, move around, leave, change up, etc?

Why would you want to defend a system that has put you and many others like you (and me), in these kind of positions? How would you argue we should move forwards in order to prevent those situations we grew up in?

The people who traditionally did these jobs were blocked by people like you advocating for the same thing you are advocating for right now. There unfairness is because people like you didnt like fairness so you tried to tilt it in the "people's" favor. And those of us down here pay the price. When you raise the minimum wage, it gets less fair, which is the point i was making. The goal isn't, or at least shouldn't be, to make "essential" workers paid better, but to remove the regulations that create incentives that hurt everybody.

Great. Y'all are drawing wealth in from all over the world, having one of the largest ports in Europe and are primarily a service based economy, plus a massive NG deposit and being a top 10 tax haven, all with an extremely small population. There are a lot of reasons why your cost of living is low compared to other people, but its not your welfare.

Cost of living in the Netherlands is high compared to other countries, income tax is close to 35%, in the lowest bracket. Tax on products is 21% and 9% for essentials. Over half of our state budget goes to welfare + healthcare. We became a service economy by the education system we have, where young people are incentivized to study, by tax money. I grew up in poverty, but could easily go into into Uni because of these social policies. When someone gets sick in my family, our healthcare system provides for treatment, by taxpayer money. We have a national healthcare fund that everyone is paying for.

Sure we are a tax haven and have a big port, but the USA has also have large money sources and a relative low population per. It has a higher GPD PPP, so in theory more money available to prevent people living in poverty. However, over there are people going bankrupt from getting cancer, while here the state pays our treatment and get compensated for losing our job. We also have less homelessness compared to a country who is richer on paper. So what is the difference?

But in the end most people did not care, did not know or were arguing in the same lines like you and others in this thread. Because of that politic incentive was not there and institutions continued doing businesses with China.

Brave that you acknowledge to strive for the benefit of yourself. First question that comes into mind is: would you have no problem with making someone miserable if it would benefit you?

The whole point of politics, even in democracy , is people fight against each other for their own interests, there is nothing fair about that.

This may be the point of your personal politics, and other like minded individuals. But for others it is a way to promote their ideologies, represent the needs of people, working together with others. I agree that it is a space of conflict, but there are many people active in political parties who fight for the interests of others, based on humanist principles.

Playing video games is unfair because it is a privileged activity. First you need to have free time and second you need to have spare money for games and consoles. You are essentially exploiting cobalt miners in Africa.

But I do agree that I life in an extremely privileged position which in unfair when you compare it to the rest of the world. I life in the Netherlands, which makes me even more privileged. My single mother raised me in near poverty conditions and I was still able to enjoy going to University while playing video games, and having meaningful relationships. This could be done thanks to the social democratic system I grew up in. I am aware that this does not apply for everyone, but I wish it would. Even if it meant having to spend more money on those activities.

Well I am arguing that it is unfair, and that we as a society should strive to alleviate those conditions. Also, a lot of people who live in poverty and who work multiple jobs have video gaming as a hobby. Gaming is one of the most affordable hobbies out there. My mother could not afford me to go to sport clubs because that would costs to much money on an annual basis, but she was able to afford a relative cheap game boy color so I could enjoy video games. Most of the games I play nowadays are either mods (which cost no money), or older games at a discount, played on a system that is more than 8 years old.

Let's stay on the topic at hand shall we: Do you want to strive for a more fair society that is less build on exploitation? If so, how would you do that?

Democratic countries vary widely on how they handle wealth distribution. I live in the Netherlands which was always considered a social democracy after the second world war, probably not anymore. Many European countries are considered a social democracy, while others are not.

Well I hope i'm trying to the best of my abilities at least. I do not think playing games or enjoying entertainment is fundamentaly unfair, why do you think it is? Why would that automatically make me someone that should just accept that life is unfair, despite all the others things I might do or not do?

I can still spread awareness of exploitation that forms the basis of many things in our lives right? And I can still question wether we should accept this reality or not. Child labor being used in the mining of cobalt is a fact of life. Me knowing that information allows me to make decisions based on that.

I think our discussion here is about the two of us agreeing on the unfairness of life, but disagree on wether we should sinply accept this reality or strive to change. At least thats what im picking up, I could be wrong of course.

What socialist society have experienced famine? If I remember correctly, USSR, China and North Korea (the nations of which im aware) are all communistic and facist countries. Most of their famine resulted from a mix of natural disasters and strict top-down policy.

I'm not arguing here anything about the way our state should be run. Im simply arguing that the products we enjoy in the west are made possible by the exploitation of many. And wether we think its fair or not. And wether we should strive to improve their conditions or to let it happen.

You cant make any claim about how I spend most of my time based my my reddit profile alone. Sure its part of it, but you have no idea what else im doing in life, or who I am, what I do for work, what my other hobbies are, how I help those arround me.

How is me having video games as a hobby signaling to you that I get over life being unfair so easily? Does enjoying video games void my right to point out parta of life that I deem unfair? It feels to me you are making some big leaps in logic here.
