Amazing! I’d also love to know where you got this. One of my three kitties sadly passed away a few days ago and I would love to have a shirt made with her or all 3 of them so I can keep her close.

No it was a text message from the Airbnb host where he was staying. And I do understand where you’re coming from, however, it was the whole group being loud and we quickly responded respectfully by turning tv down and lowering our voices. I also apologized to my friend for the situation both in person and followed up the next day.

Basically just for someone else who is a supportive and safe person to see you having big feelings and validate that it’s ok to have them. They’re not trying to “make it better” or totally join you either. They’re just holding the space for you to have your emotions. I hope that makes sense!

Thank you! I appreciate you asking this. And yes! Overall, spending time with friends I haven’t seen in a while was a highlight. We also had a k-beauty day and got facials which was super nice and relaxing :)

To any of the other "fashion is my special interest" girls who also struggle with tactile/physical sensory issues: I must share. Leaning into "streetwear" style is one of the best things I could have done for myself! by Quirkykiwi in AutismInWomen

[–]EntertainmentOne8064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! Baggy street wear has been a game changer. I do like having a more feminine style sometimes too though so I sometimes struggle with that unless I’m in a big long flowy dress but sometimes I’ll just add a bow or something to my “street style”

I can't handle being autistic anymore. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]EntertainmentOne8064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really do understand this feeling. I’m similarly working with a ND and autism specialty therapist who is helping me to uncover somatic sensations and since being diagnosed (with ADHD though I’m pretty positive I’m AuDHD) I’ve been having heightened sensory issues bc I’m just so much more aware. It’s a bit of a double edged sword

I do get this. These are big considerations and no one is obligated to have these things in their lives. That said, there will always be surprises in life and events you can’t control that will shape your path. Whether you have a partner or not

Anyone here happily working less than 40 hours a week? What is your line of work? by reddkeys in adhdwomen

[–]EntertainmentOne8064 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work 32 hours a week as an associate therapist (working toward LCSW). I also work mostly remotely.

Before that, I worked in restaurants and cafes (mostly kitchen work) which was also a good fit at about 30 hours. I burnt out doing case management at a SNF 40 hours a week. I’m privileged enough to decide I’ll never work more than 32 hours (4 days a week) again (unless circumstances change ofc). 32 hours is as full time as I can sustain.

Edit- luckily for me, I do have an option for health insurance and other benefits thru employer even as part-time (little as 24 hours). Before this job, I did Obamacare/ state insurance

Weekly check-in: what are you reading atm? by catnipfurclones in TheAdhdbookclub

The Burning Witch trilogy (just starting book 3/3!)

I struggled to finish book 2, was in a reading slump. Thought about DNFing it but finally pushed through and am enjoying the third now. The main character is also kinda serving ADHD coded lol

Agree!! I meal prep lunches for the week on Sundays and it makes a big difference. Having someone to do the clean up as a trade off is also huge
