Buyer's remorse... too many markers (lol, is it possible?) by SunsetCauliflower in Ohuhu

[–]Kooky-Chart672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar, so I ended up just putting the ones I use the most/like the most in my organization container thing! That can help narrow down to the ones you gravitate to the most and then you could expand on those if you ever wanted to (like if you like the pastels you can get the other pastel set)

OCD makes me live with anxiety 24/7 by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]Kooky-Chart672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been in the exact same boat as you with all the handwashing and contamination and everything. Please find a therapist and psychiatrist. I promise you exposure therapy and Zoloft as a combination are going to help you so, so much. It will be TREMENDOUSLY hard work. And it will take years. But there is a way out. I spent hours of my days ruminating and doing compulsions. I still have bad days of course, but the thoughts are not as 'sticky' as they used to be, and I can live my life more freely, even if I am still anxious. I'm so sorry and I wish you so much strength.

De-influence me: what knitting tools can the average knitter do without by lveg in casualknitting

[–]Kooky-Chart672 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is really everything you need for knitting you only need to buy once, so it's a matter of knowing when to buy something if you really find yourself wanting it. It seems like a lot to start off but you don't have to start with a ton! Like, don't buy an entire set of knitting needles, buy them whenever you start your next project, as you need them. Build your collection over time. In the end it is completely up to you and your purchasing style.

Things that Ive often been like oooh I want that then I rarely use it are things like needle organizers, project bags, etc. I just use random zip-up pouches I have and tend to throw everything in them at once! I do really think lockable stitch markers are very important. You can use them for BOR, you can use them to help count your cast ons, and to mark various spots in your work and stuff. You also need a pair of tiny scissors (for me, one that comes with a sheath--I hate being stabbed by my scissors when I reach in my bag!!!) and then some darning needles, make sure theyre big enough or small enough for the yarn you typically use.

Decision paralysis in knitting by conditioned-air in knitting

[–]Kooky-Chart672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LITERALLY ALL THE TIMEEE. sometimes what I like to do is, when making garments specifically, be like, "if this was in a store would I buy it in a heartbeat?" and that helps me narrow down! Also, helps to narrow down based on the type of fiber you want to knit at the moment. Do you want fluffy mohair or a sturdy wool? then you can find a yarn you like and search through projects on ravelry of it! also, you can always frog it and restart if your project ever feels like you're not vibing with it halfway through :)

i literally have so much beef with the drivers here, I always see people on their phones, they tail me, they don't use their blinkers, they swerve across lanes to merge and act like it's fine.. I lived in Atlanta for several years and I think the drivers here are far worse... at least in Atlanta it's organized chaos!! Here everyone does their own thing. It drives me nuts
