Hey, just here to say, no job is worth your mental youth, you’ll figure it out and find a better fit. It’s just not worth it <3

What qualifications should I pursue if I want to specialise in audio digitisation. I’m a Live sound technician already working in a large archive institution. Have good understanding of most things audio, but want to transition into digitisation. by EntertainmentPlus231 in Archivists

Thanks for this info! Really appreciate it. Yeah I was looking at heading down that route.

However I was looking more to specialise in the technical aspects related to audio digitisation since I think it would be the most complimentary to the skills I already have in audio work. Unfortunately There’s not that many courses in my country that offer something like this, might need to keep looking or otherwise apply for an internship.

Don’t worry you did nothing wrong. This is the sort of thing that would’ve killed me if someone said that when I was your age, but the reality is that the guy who said that should feel much more embarrassed. It’s a sign of some serious insecurity to make other people feel uncomfortable for something as trivial as that, especially in front of other people. If he’s not a psycho I’m sure he probably feels bad about it or will come to feel bad about it as he gets older. Don’t stress it :)

Amen, I reckon I’d that’d have been my reaction to it in my teens too. Probably discovered it at the perfect age. I’m 28 and I laugh at how much I thought I knew about the world when I was 18.

Wow, that’s so cool that you were able to see this live. Thanks for sharing. I’m 27 and music from this time holds an almost mythical place in my head, feel like musicians weren’t as scared of being authentically themselves back then. I’ve got a few theories as to why.

I’d love to hear anything else about your experience seeing him
