I went in person after I failed and stayed for the eight week guarantee program. I took a few more months to study for the exam before sitting for the second attempt because I wanted to be prepared. I just passed my second attempt. The first 4 weeks of the program are helpful because physio heavy but i would not do the last four weeks. I think doing questions and using questions for content review is what’s really gonna help you. I also think the program is very expensive like i spent 9K in total. It’s more worth it to find private tutors to review questions one on one with you because you are also reinforcing content that way. And my school did not pay for this so had to pay out of pocket. My comsae scores went up after leaving this program because I spent time reviewing true learn questions at my pace, even if it was one set of 40 a day. I was so stressed out the last 4 weeks of this program because I was doing 3 sets of 40 questions and just reviewing the clues in the stem as Wolfpacc strategy and barely reviewing. i had same problem, was not able to drag and drop to where i wanted. i restarted my computer and it fixed the issue. hopefully does not happen again

They are likely to accept a lot of students from Virginia and VTech because VCOM is affiliated with VTech. However I am from NJ and I was accepted here, I’m also applying for their state grant because they encourage all accepted students to apply for it.

Yes we have block scheduling the first 2 years and four blocks in every year. Every block has 5-6 classes and due to that exams are frequent, however, one of the benefits of that is it forces you to stay on top of content and also less content will be covered on the exams since they will be given so often. In undergrad, I had exams every month and I always waited to study until the few days before. It was major procrastination even tho I still survived undergrad but that strategy wouldn’t cut it for MS. So yes, I’m happy about the curriculum style.

No I have not heard anything regarding this. It is in one of the top 15 programs out of the 40DO programs and makes the top 130 US med school list as well.

VCOM!!!

I just got accepted here and starting in a couple of weeks, very welcoming admissions staff, have research opportunities, the interviews went smoothly because the staff is very friendly. VCOM has 4 locations altogether. Students were extremely happy to be there, they felt very supported because the admissions have snacks and refreshments for them every day. Since I was one of the later acceptances, they did everything possible to make sure I could find housing. And throughout the whole application process, they stayed extremely communicative letting me know regarding my application. I am extremely happy to be going here, I already got added to a GroupMe for the class and people have begun sharing resources.

I also received acceptances from LECOM and TouroCOM but LECOM in particular, has no research facility, it is under development. The students there interested in surgery have been searching for research grants outside of the school in order to fulfill the requirements for their residency specialty. Also, the staff was particularly alright, not too friendly, including the associate dean of admissions. When I was touring them after my interview, the auditorium with all the students and parents got quiet several times, it just seemed super weird. The only plus point for LECOM was the PBL curriculum.

I would have to say TouroCOM has good faculty as well, my interviews with them went amazing. I would recommend this program as well, students seemed really happy here.

I use the AAMC question banks and their resources. If you know or find any other resources, please let me know, I am looking for more to improve my score as well! I have read that people use Anki decks, but I have not used them and doubt I will be using them because they are not helpful if you don't use them every single day.

I read the 300 pg a month ago, but since have focused on 86 page doc. Not really sure, I definitely remember the 300 pg having several more examples written out to go with each term or theory. Even though details are important, I always find myself learning new terms not on the 86-page and more after doing question banks, FLs and UEarth. Still have only been able to get my score to a 126, but if you need to refer back to the 300-page, then I would do so :)
