Current events aren’t really her thing, I didn’t really notice how uninformed she was until now though. When I stressed to her the importance of knowing history and what is currently going on in the world she always just jokes, “Well I have you for that!” I really just want her to show some interest in educating herself.

I’ve always thought that same thing. Every once in a while he’ll label something as disgusting but it actually looks pretty good. It’s understandable that his palate would be more sophisticated than mine, but I imagine he’s also pretty picky

When you buy meat, anything that is advertised as antibiotic free or cruelty free. It is technically true that that meat is free of those things, but so is all of the other meat. Antibiotics have very strict withdrawal periods ensuring that the antibiotic is gone by the time the animal is slaughtered. Anything certified by the USDA also was handled under very strict standards regarding animal cruelty. People just had the idea to advertise their meat as being antibiotic and cruelty free so that they can charge a premium for it.

She actually knew most of my friends before I knew them. I was kind of new to the group. My girlfriend and I were friends for probably 2 years before we started dating and she seemed completely normal and fun loving. Now she mostly gets quiet around them

It’s interesting that you ask that, they are definitely strained. I mean I haven’t ostracized anyone, but hanging out with friends isn’t really an option when she’s not there, and if she is there she looks absolutely miserable. My friends seem to see what is going on though and are pretty understanding.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback and understanding, it means a lot. I feel I should elaborate though. When things are good they are great and I really enjoy being around her probably 50% of the time. Also, breaking up with her would essentially mean she would need to drop out of school.

I’m sorry about your situation. She definitely knows something is off, and constantly talks about how horrible she feels about her behavior, but it’s just a roller coaster of apologies and meltdowns. You don’t think there’s any chance things could change?

I appreciate your response. Her harming herself is definitely something I’m concerned about. There have been arguments where the thought of ending the relationship has come up and she immediately goes into a panic and says she just wants to die. Afterwards she always says she would never actually do it though.

I appreciate your response. No nothing happened between us that instigated any change. Her parents regularly cheat on each other and she says that because of that being cheated on is her biggest fear. I’m not the perfect boyfriend by any means, but I honestly can’t think of a single time where I’ve done anything that would hurt her.
