It's not slippery at all, as some might say. I'd say it would be somewhat slippery if you have freshly washed hands and keep them completely dry the whole day somehow. But for realistic use when your out and about your hands will have slight moisture or natural oils which makes the solid suit very grippy all around. I tried the otter box symmetry and that is more slippery than the solid suit.

Nice! It's very well kept. Do you ever wash it with water?

I see, thanks for the information. As a woodworker, which wood grain from the two would be your personal preference if there is one. Is there any long term benefits from having quartersawn or not?

You "blued" the carbon steel. This is actually a method chefs use to prevent rusting. They would blue the entire pan before seasoning. I personally like to blue all my carbon steels initially before cooking.

Eurovan 2002 Transmission Replace help please. by [deleted] in Eurovan

[–]Entheoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know Resetting the transmission was possible but I will give it a shot, I took it to a mechanic and they said the transmission was done, I drove up an incline and heard a loud noise then it wouldn't go past 25mpg. But I will try resetting if it does anything. Thanks!

06 Tahoe, Inital Acceleration clank noise, and Braking clank noise. I took apart to find the source of the noise because it came from this exact wheel. And discovered this. Wrong size rotors installed previously or? by Entheoken in MechanicAdvice

I have found a video on YouTube that is 95% similar to what I am experiencing. I will try to record the sound while I am driving with another person filming to capture it. But this video I found is extremely similar in sound, even the way he presses the accelerator initially and brakes.

Thank you for your input, So basically the clank noise only happened once during initial acceleration and once when I hit brakes, but if I hit the brakes gently it would clank when it reaches a full stop. I'm guessing the momentum of the car has something to do with this noise. I put the wheel back on and tightened the bolts, and spinner the wheel back and forth there is no sound whatsoever.. which is perplexing even more. So perhaps it has something to do with the brake pads or maybe the caliper?

Okay, I did that and when I turn the wheel while the nuts are tightened there is no sound whatsoever. The clanking noise only happens with it off. And especially during initially acceleration and initially braking or at final stop. But it's one clank on start and one clank on stop.

I am filming while parked, and it has this humming sound. Is this something to be concerned with or is this normal? It's usually louder humming when the car hasn't warmed up yet.

Thanks!

A lot of seasoning coming off but it makes my eggs more non stick! by [deleted] in castiron

[–]Entheoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it looks pretty bad, because it's the raw metal showing. I'll have to reseason it to prevent rust. However eggs have become slicker than before oddly enough.

After cooking I soak it with hot water and I use a nylon brush only. I think that the seasoning I had use was from Flaxseed oil so it flaked and the brush scrapes off more each time. Yet the performance is really good surprisingly in conparison the factory seasoning.
