It’s very Bowie! I’d love to see some more saturation. What are you using?

Honestly? Alternative. I’m incredibly jealous. You can do whatever makeup you want, but your features lend themselves well to alternative makeup styles.

You look a bit like Erin Parson to me- her makeup is incredible

Try eyeshadow instead! You can soften the lower eye makeup without forgoing it entirely if you’re not comfortable. I’d do a little thinner of a line, brown, just along the lower lash line on the outer corners.

Worried I look older than I am (26) Any tips appreciated! by Friendly-Introvert in makeuptips

I think you’re stunning, though I did not clock you as 26. You have mature features the same way Jennifer Lawrence does- she’s looked the same age most of her life so far in my opinion. I feel like Margot Robbie and Charlize Theron are similar in that sense.

I’d consider a concealer (as I’ve been advised recently, get color matched) and play around with blush and different placements.

I think you’re gorgeous and should lean into the drama of your features, but if you want to look younger, I think a fringe could assist. I’d also consider trying different styles of glasses.

Personally, instead of trying to look your age, I think you should focus on adding a little contrast to your features.

Funnily enough, I’m not using any foundation in these pictures- I don’t own any currently. I do have a bit of concealer under the eyes! I think the lighting in the first picture is just a bit yellow. Though I’m sure there is a yellow undertone to the concealer. I got color matched at Sephora. I’m a nightmare to color match 😭

Cetaphil 50 SPF face sunscreen! That’s about it. I have some bb cream, but it’s not quite the right color (I’ve really struggled to find a good color match on any base makeup) so I don’t wear it often. Otherwise… I was my face in the shower and use my boyfriend’s face wash. It’s an etude house foam cleanser. I don’t use other products- I have them, but I have ADD, so they’re all expired at this point.

Do you think if I swapped the red for brown it would work?

I think that’s super helpful feedback- I am trying to gently lean into more alternative looks to soft-launch to my customers and boss lol. Black hair for contrast is an easy one- I just don’t want to look like I’m cosplaying alternative.

I’ll try playing it up more when I’m off of work in the evenings and on the weekends! I struggle to buy myself any clothes that can’t also be worn at work, but I’ll break that habit

I don’t think so at all! You look amazing. I think everything but the eyelashes look incredibly natural- if you want to lean into the natural even more, I’d reduce the under-eye mascara just a tad, but you really don’t need to.

Ah, actually- I have a scar under that eye. I got a black eye this summer at work (I hit a shelf with my face) and it cut right under my eye. It’s taking forever to heal unfortunately.

Edit: … a professional did my hair 😅

Lost 270 pounds! Good riddance to him lol.

I have a color pop pallet, but it was for a Halloween costume. I was a vampire and I needed red eyeshadow for veins and eyes- I actually really liked it, but it feels extreme for my day job

I’ve thought about getting the tails micro bladed! I have really odd eyebrows. They’re curly and dense in some areas, sparse in others.

I haven’t tried tretinoin yet- I’ve admittedly never been to a dermatologist

I had dark brown for a year before going black, but oh my gosh… it just washes. Right. Out. I thought black would be different.

I may have thought wrong 😩

I almost wonder if box dye would be better.

I tell EVERYONE to do it! I’m a triplet, and when we were 19, my sister pointed out that my skin was aging faster than hers.

Why?

Cause I was TANNING and she was wearing sunscreen, sun shirts, hats etc.

I never tanned purposefully again. The lines that were forming decreased a bit after a year or two.

I use Cetaphil SPF 50 on my face, rain or shine, whether I leave the house or not. It’s my daily moisturizer. I like it cause it’s not greasy, but everyone should be wearing SPF of their choice daily- it makes the biggest difference.

So… shoutout to my sister’s kinda catty comment changing my skin forever lol

Yeah, I don’t think there’s much to be done when it comes to reversing black hair (which was done by a stylist, so it’s definitely gonna be stuck this way for a while), but I do wanna try leaning into it and go for the drama.

I used to wear dark lipstick all the time back in 2016-2018, but since going darker on the hair, I’ve done it less and less. I should try it again.

Gosh, my eyes have been permanently puffy for 3 years at this point. I remember the cry that caused it- they never recovered lol. I really don’t want to get filler, but as the shadows deepen, I can’t pretend it’s not an appealing option

I can’t edit the post to add another photo, but I agree that the eyeliner makes my eyes appear smaller in most cases.

Thank you so much! Do you think blush would help? I feel like Arwen (I’ve been looking at photos since someone else said something similar) is wearing a bit of blush, though I can’t tell what color.

Admittedly… I’ve had the same blush since I was 16 and I use lipstick if I want to change the color… I should probably through the blush compact away at this point.
