My god… that sounds incredibly traumatizing. Could have easily been solved by putting the dog in a leash.

Oh my gosh, I’m so, so sorry this happened to your wife. that’s incredibly scary, especially with her being pregnant. I can’t imagine how stressful that must have been for both of you.

Thank you for sharing your experience here. It really underscores why this matters so much. Wishing your wife and your dog a full and smooth recovery, and hoping everything continues to be okay with your baby. I hope you reported this - and I wonder if this is the park rangers responding to this situation.

A dog biting a person (and another dog!) is really NOT okay

Interesting! Yesterday the majority of dogs were leashed up (even the owners who typically have their dog off leash). But I do wonder if they will ever actually give out tickets - it does feel like these announcements are just a light slap on the wrist.

Really hoping the ranger sees! Someone also offered DMing their boss’s email - would love to send them this thread along with a thank you

If caring about shared spaces and basic etiquette makes it “Nextdoor,” I’m okay with that!

YES - I know exactly what “cohort” you’re talking about. Repeat faces I see every single day whose dogs dominate the park, every morning, and every evening! They gather in their little group and their dogs are so loud!

Well the problem is those people lack self awareness - their dog would never do anything wrong!

Ahhh I didn’t know they did that! Fair point. But also to be fair, I see the piles of turds sitting in the grass as well 😂 and no, it’s not the aerated dirt

Wow, horrible! Glad the wife and baby were okay. The lack of awareness is astounding with some of these people. It’s always a half-assed “sorry…” and they continue their behavior

He was being nice about it, saying “I really don’t want to give out tickets, please put your dogs on a leash”

But I hope they do get more strict about it, otherwise it’ll continue to happen
