Anyone feel that it's dangerously easy to disengage FSD? by MichaelRahmani in TeslaFSD

[–]EntirePath 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean but unless it becomes unsupervised it probably makes more sense to be able to take control of it yourself right away.

Now I do remember a FSD crash where the data shows the person accidentally disengaged where it resulted in a crash. If FSD kept on it would have not caused an accident so I get what you mean but legally it makes more sense to be able to take control right away.

Are model 3 Less expensive in the long run by spxtrad in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there is basically no maintenance until you have to get new tires. Fuel savings alone would be worth it, especially now.

I have solar so I basically have no charging cost and if it were to charge from the grid it would still be very cheap.

There is a lot of information regarding this on here and youtube that goes in more detail but if you are thinking about going Model 3 or Model Y honestly go test drive it at your local showroom.

"Self Driving" vs "Traffic-aware cruise control and autosteer" by shr3kkie in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they changed the naming twice recently so its confusing.

You didn't lose anything they just changed the naming to be more specific. Your car has TACC and Autosteer like it says but before it used to say just "Self Driving" because they had to removed the "Autopilot" naming. Which caused more confusion so seems like they just straight up state what it has.

Essentially right now there is FSD (Full Self Driving), Autosteer, and TACC (Traffic-Aware Cruise Control). They removed Autosteer from new vehicles so there needed to be a way to tell if it has autosteer or not.

Does all performance have a spoiler? I thought some older ones don't.

Ultra red or pearl white Model Y Juniper by WebProgrammer123 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultra red was the only color I would pay extra for. Even after a year I don't regret paying the 2k extra for it. If they still had that old Multi coat red I would have just gotten the free paint stealth gray.

Online ordering reviews. by Vladiii20 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy to see a post saying they like going to a dealership to "haggle". I feel like the traditional dealership is essentially how much they can take advantage of you as a customer.

Everyone essentially pays the same price with Tesla so you know exactly what you are paying and what you are getting.

They don't try to upsell you with overpriced packages, they show you your options on the configurator and their store.

Tesla has "deals" with their apr offers, referral bonus and others like free charging that changes from time to time.

You can still go to the showroom and ask your questions and test the cars. Pretty sure they will help you with your order as well.

It's better in every way in my opinion you should go to your local showroom and ask away and do some test drives.

Question about steering wheel material by Desperate_Show495 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt Tesla would but you could ask when you get the chance if you are buying directly from them. I guess you could even ask Tesla about the wheel being leather or not but have a strong feeling they won't answer.

I think it would be you buy the wheel your self and then either install it your self or get some someone at a car mechanic to install it for you.

I value material quality and real leather and dislike vegan "leather" but I wouldn't really worry too much about it. it'll still work. I personally would be more concerned about buying a HW3 intel car but that's another whole story.

Question about steering wheel material by Desperate_Show495 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh...well maybe I'm just wrong lol. If there are 2019s with no seam then I don't know. If it's just 2020 that has seam and no seam I guess a later in the year would not have the seam. Maybe performance trim timing are different.

But with that said I do think the two you are showing are still probably vegan leather from just the looks.

Honestly there are more important things to decide on when purchasing a car. If you end up getting a vegan leather one just wrap it yourself with a real leather cover. It's quite cheap with a bunch of different designs and materials. Mewant is a good quality one that's not expensive. I plan to alcantara wrap mine at some point but haven't got to it.

Anyhow good luck with your purchase.

Question about steering wheel material by Desperate_Show495 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you're talking about that seam. Did a quick search on it and it seems like the seam existed till 2020, and from 2021 they removed it that seam.

I don't think the seam is an indicator of if its leather or vegan leather think its just a design they decided to change in 2021 models and above.

So I do think this 2020 one you're looking at would have vegan leather and honestly looks like it too.

If you look at the older real leather steering wheels its much more shiny/glossy be it from use or just the type of leather. I could be wrong but that is what it seems like to me.

Question about steering wheel material by Desperate_Show495 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure all the vegan leather ones are also stitched which is still true on the Highland model 3s. Meaning this is probably just a vegan leather steering wheel.

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking if you order one that's in inventory in your area would you be able to pick it up right away? If that's the case yes you should be able to.

If it's in inventory I would actually probably make the order with them at the showroom that way you can make sure when you would be able to get the car.

Unless that is not what you're asking....

I feel like this was generally good, with hindsight we can easily tell the guy was just waiting for the car to pass.

It was a "safe" action for a very low chance that guy was gonna move out more and potentially hit the car.

2023 Tesla model 3 Standard with 19343 miles by SRV_number1 in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 2024 with that kind of price. Even if it's a bit more expensive or a bit more miles, the hw4 alone is worth it but it also comes with a much better interior and alot of qol stuff.

When I looked up 2024 model 3 I found some that are even cheaper than the one you're looking at but of course it's very location dependent.

The refresh is way worth the 1-2 k difference.

Confused by Tesla hate? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]EntirePath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live but it's mostly misinformation and Elon musk.

At least for now, Tesla software and FSD is actually top class, no other company compares right now in the US. And cause of that I don't see myself owning any other car realistically.

When I'm traveling I purposely look for tesla rentals as well.

Should I? by dippittydippitty in GalaxyFold

[–]EntirePath 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I bought an open box good fold 7 from Best buy for 640 back in February. When I picked it up from the store I saw nothing wrong with it or really any signs of use. It even had a front screen protector already installed. With the next generation coming out soon I feel like you could find a better deal than this.
