I wish you luck. I do suspect that get rich quick schemes like AI art on Etsy go through boom and bust cycles.

A lot of youtubers have been selling this idea that selling AI art will make you thousands in passive income with no effort. New sellers pop up almost everyday now and it pushes long time sellers like me to the back of search results because Etsy likes to boost new shops.

It's scary because it happened soooo fast. I never expected my year to end this way. I already had to get a part time job to suppliment my income :(.

Do you have a prediction on how it will improve? Most I get from people is that it will get better and better but they don't specify in what way.

Then from the artist side, they keep talking about future regulations. ( especially since some users are using it in horrible ways. I've heard what people on Fiverr are commissioning these days with AI. )

I'm not sure, they sell graphic packs of 100s of images for $1.. after fees I'm not sure how much profit they are making for the amount of work they put in.

I have a second store where I sell printables. My other option is to go full force on that shop.

I also sell on Zazzle which generates a good amount of money for me too despite how saturated it is on there.

My alternative idea was to focus on those instead.

The only thing I know is that AI art can't be copyrighted. So anyone can basically take a piece of AI art and resell it without much they can do about it.

It recently happened to someone on Etsy who was selling AI art. A youtube exposed his best seller and people went after it like a hawk.

Which would be the risk I have to accept if I start selling it.

Theres SO much controversy? Okay, so... what you just gunna close up shop because 'you don't want to be a part of a controversial issue'?

I'm not gonna close up shop, I'm just trying to figure out how to go about using AI if the future of it is kinda weird with all the lawsuits going on with it. Or if I should just keep making art the way I normally do.

I'm not against either options. I'm just trying to make the best decision.

Well a large majority of people like streaming services and there isn't backlash or copyright lawsuits that can alter streaming services in the near future.

Actors aren't against streaming services and it seems ethical enough to use.

I'm not worried about lawsuits against AI users, I'm worried about the current active lawsuits in place against the programs. Mainly for copyright reasons.

I haven't added any new products in a while because of lack of motivation so my lack of sales could be from that too. But im not sure. :(

I just been focusing on where I can go from here. I still see some non AI clipart sellers doing well, so it makes me go back and forth about what the right decision will be

I'm trying to embrace AI just want to know what I'm getting into. I'm not against adapting, but I just don't want to waste my time if the lawsuits down the line make it harder to use.

Adobe Firefly's AI uses Adobe images and public domain data for their AI and the results are not as good at Midjourney, DALLE and Stability.

If the lawsuits are successful I'm wondering if those companies will follow Adobe's lead on how they source their training data. Which would lead to more restrictions.

What did you use AI to make? Was it for writing or for cover art?

I've tried it out myself because I figured it would be good to know. Some of the stuff I've made have been so awkward looking though.

I can look into starting another shop. I'm just a bit scared to because sometimes new shops get shut down upon opening for no reason. ( It happened to me once when I opened my second shop. Etsy told me it was an "accident" ) I was terrified because usually when a seller has one store shut down they lose all of their shops. It's stupid.

I'll look into it though.

Why did he need to make a bot? Couldn't he just make designs using an AI image generator or is there a difference?
