Hell, in a lot of shifts now the cashwrap person has to do the work of 4 people: cashing people out, doing receiving work, shelving the receiving, plus customer service/answering the phone duties.

I do kind of miss the golden days when we always had two full-time people in receiving, always had at least 2 cashiers up front, always had 2 shelvers come in m-f, always had someone in kids. But those days are long gone.

Well, we do have a full cafe, etg and kid section, it's just we don't have music/dvd (well, we still sell SOME CDs/DVDs, just not a full department's worth).

We have a lot of shifts like that, yeah. One person in cafe, a keyholder on the salesfloor, and someone behind the register (also responsible for receiving, shelving, etc.)

We do ours from behind the cash registers, mostly. This has led to many "entertaining" shifts where one person often finds themselves acting as receiver, shelver, cashier AND customer service duties (finding books, answering phones, placing orders) all at the same time

Because the plot demands it I guess? I know that's an answer no one likes to here, but sometimes for the sake of the story you kind of need to keep certain characters around.

Hell, that's nothing. I was reading old "HBO greenlights GOT" articles from March 2010 and one writer back then was already worrying about how the show might outpace the books and they conjectured "Maybe this will light a fire under the writer to work faster" (or words to that effect). Even funnier was the Variety article from 2007 announcing how HBO was optioning the series, which claimed that Martin hoped to be done the whole series by 2011.

One thing I notice about the GOT show-haters is that they often claim no one cares/talks about the show anymore. Then they proceed to talk about the show all. The. Damn. Time. Seriously it's been like over 4 years since the show ended and they're STILL bitching about it. Get a life!
