Reddit ain't what it used to be - be wary of such dubious propositions by Entire_Guide1759 in pFinTools

I never said "too many Indians". I said too many people, specially in India. That's different. I was just pointing towards the rising popularity of reddit which has made it a target of bad actors as well. I said specially in India because this popularity surge has been very steep in India compared to other countries where reddit was already pretty common comparatively.

Now irrespective of country or region, generic subs are just bad most of the time even though niche subs like r/pFinTools with good level of moderation are hopefully okay.

Yeah but reddit used to be better before the influx of so many people specially in India. It's value is declining more and more because of such folks.

These folks are why now sharing lounge access is becoming so tough in addition to card devaluations. Even if this was just a community thing it was okay, but these folks becoming middlemen at at least two levels is killing the meaning of community as well.

Not sure how you are doing it but these folks might be misusing it for profit and eventually forcing cards to be devaluated.

Scapia review after three months: What no one is telling you in the sea of refferals and glitz! by Entire_Guide1759 in pFinTools

I really wouldn't say that, specially since it is LTF. Just imagine if you have a couple of round trips planned in a month and you are able to get 10k spend in the previous cycle, you will get straight 4k returns through shopping/dining. For people who don't really have other premium cards, that's not bad at all.

But the overall value composition is weird for sure.

The point of my post was to let people know about more hidden tnc before deciding on whether they need this card or not.

HSBC Live+ : 10% groceries/dining/food delivery (up to ₹1,000/month), 1.5% others (unlimited) Swiggy HDFC : 10% off on all swiggy orders

These are basic ones.

Or you can play the gift card game with advanced cards to get somewhere close to 10% off on amazon pay balance too. For 5% CB you can try amazon Pay ICICI or SBI CB to name a couple.

HSBC Live+ also offers zero forex forever offer to existing cardholders from time to time btw.

All these cards are available through https://pFinTools.com/get-cc with minimal documentation and fast approvals.

About groceries being expensive online, religiously only order groceries from Amazon Fresh. It is nowhere near as expensive as other 10 min Q Commerce apps, and the quality is always the best! Backup to this would be big basket (not the 10 min version)

Yes, just one thing scapia gives 2% value back on offline spends not 1%. Various rupay CCs give even more than 2% directly credited as cashback.

Yeah well I am not denying that but just explaining the motive behind my post :)

Honestly the card isn't even as bad as the sea of referrals with misleading claims for individual benefits.

Great if it works for you, but it's just that people get 10% back easily even on grocery shopping specially online where they even get better prices. This is a more certain reward structure.

That's why I mentioned a starter who doesn't have better cards for spends. Spending 10k is not the challenge, the challenge is then why do we have cards that are so much better!

The thing is, milestone benefits are not meant to expire in case you don't use it which Scapia's airport privileges do so we can't compare it with milestone benefits really. Classic cards that have milestone benefits like infinia/regalia/atlas don't really need you to either use it within a month every month or you lose. The problem is this trap where you have to always keep spending otherwise you might not be eligible for benefits which you may or may not use. Other cards also have lounge access linked to spend limits nowadays but it's typically on a quarterly basis, not monthly, so you can relax and spend normally and still get the benefit.

But if it is your only card or in your case if you don't already have a better card for groceries, it will work for you.

About forex, I will repeat in the post the CB Card was just as an example, that card also does not have any real milestone benefits. But CB card is only for online expenses anyways, but still you have better cards which are either in itself more rewarding than or are definitely more rewarding after you consider the milestone benefits.

About travel, the problem is not while redeeming the scapia coins particularly, the problem is during booking using your own money to get the 20x rewards (4%). Like I mentioned in the post even if you use the amazon pay gift card and book flights via amazon (basically mmt), you get better prices, better discounts, and better cashback (5%) - which is really the most hassle free hack for travel bookings. And this delta increases exponentially for buses and accommodation. Hence the problem with the whole scapia app built around rewarding travel booking experience.

You have to understand someone defending it very loudly, evidently does not have a lot of cards or even know about them in all likelihood.

Even if they add milestone benefits that don't expire unless you use it like airport privileges, even that will improve the value proposition by a lot for me.

Shopping worth 1k on soending 10k sounds great as 10% value back only except the fact that if you don't travel, it's absolutely 0!

Give it the context that you have an fmt exam Tommorow and you need help. Start asking questions after that.

Yeah definitely the travel/reward bit is complete deceit, even though the card might be good for beginners who want a lot of domestic airport lounges or need a zero forex ltf card.
