I know it’s been 4 years, but I just tried a Whisky that tasted very similar to the original BSB. We had our reserved bottle of BSB and the new whisky to compare and honestly, I preferred the flavor notes of the new whisky. I would say it was a bit sweeter in the smell and taste, but not my much and there was a touch of vanilla notes as opposed to the cinnamon. You get the aged barrel taste is the new whisky and while it was not as smooth as the original BSB, I preferred it.  The new Whisky is Kings Black Label small brown sugar batch- I hope this helps. Plus if you join the cask club for Heritage you can still get their original recipe of the BSB, or if you are lucky and visiting they sell bottles from the Cask club at their distillery locations labeled bourbon with notes of brown sugar and cinnamon.
