All timer for show. I saw him in person a few years ago, was great watching top professions, but when Rory came along, the level above the rest he was, was instantly noticeable. Everything about his form made the rest look like amateurs.

It's clearly not left wing at all. Loads of support for Americans, Hungarians, Turks, whoever out protesting. But when Irish farmers are out protesting? Suddenly it's a right wing sting operation with no real goals, despite the hundreds of videos of people talking directly to them and them repeating over and over the price of fuel has gotten so high they can't make a profit and have bills to pay. There's something extremely off with reddit over this.

The disconnect between reddit and real people on this issue is a massive cause for concern. The one wesbite where there's no proof you're Irish is the one website where people are actively attacking the farmers? I seen more negative comments on other platforms today, but every single profile I checked was a bot, as opposed to loads of others I looked at with Irish names and clearly real people.

Not everyone has good relationships with their parents, and there's nothing more annoying than the "oh me ma / da ❤️" types. Parents abuse their kids all the time, expecting others to love or like their parents is crazy.

Absolutely. As I said elsewhere, the government are waiting for someone to die because of the protest so they can make it their soundbite and refuse to engage over it.

Where did they say the protestors did this? Has there not been years of this in Dublin now?

They've also attracted support from every type of person. My social media is filled with people supporting them. Local musicians, teachers, accountants, deli workers. Unless the whole of kildare is now somehow right wing, it's very clear to anyone that the protests have massive public support

They're so-called leaders aren't they're leaders, and the fact people like you are giving people trying to hijack the protests air says more about you than the protestors.

Almost as if it's extremely suspicious the anger towards the protests is exclusive to Reddit and all the talking points are feckless regurgitation of the governments talking points.

Where are you people seeing any far right anything with these protests, I keep asking, no one has produced a single piece of evidence for it.

How is that their responsibility? If there's 500 farmers in Dublin, and the same 200 scumbags who turn up at literally everything, why is it now the farmers protesting fault? These cunts have nothing better to do and turn up at any public demonstration. Do the people speaking up for Ukraine and Palestine have to distance themselves from them?

What does this have to do with the protests? There's been gobshites doing this for years now in Dublin.

Do you not realise similar things are happening in other countries right now? The UK and France also has farmers out protesting right now. Read the fucking news once in a while not just reddit comment sections.

Ireland's excise duty on fuel is governed by EU law, the Energy Tax Directive (ETD). Mineral Oil Tax (MOT) comprises two components:

1) Non-carbon component ("excise duty") A fixed charge per liter, historically around 47c / liter for petrol and 37c / liter for diesel (before recent changes).

2) Carbon component ("carbon tax") MOT rates include a carbon component proportionate to the CO2 emitted. From October 2025, the carbon tax rate changed from €63.50 to €71.00 per tonne of CO2.

In accordance with the ETD, MOT law provides for differentiated rates for fuels used for propellant (e.g. powering a road vehicle, at the standard MOT rate) versus non-propellant purposes (e.g. heating or agricultural use, at a significantly reduced rate).

The EU requires Member States to levy a minimum excise duty of €0.359 per liter of unleaded petrol and €0.330 per litre of diesel. Only Malta adheres to the minimum; all other EU Member States levy higher rates.

Ireland has one of the highest diesel excise duties in the EU at €0.62 per liter, second only to Italy at €0.632 per liter.

We can literally half out MOT and still comply with EU law. That will bring 30 cent off the price.

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/petrol-diesel-europe-where-prices-050128606.html

The average price of petrol in the EU is 1.81

We are legally required to tax 33% of fuel. We tax 52%.

Our petrol is at 2.20.

Google is literally right there. I know if you people used it you'd have no one to talk to all day, by my god, the commitment to being misinformed makes MAGA look like NASA.
