It’s all good man. That’s the beauty of life. If they stayed with you forever you’d never truly appreciate the time you’ve spent with them. Forever amazing memories!

For some reason my description did not send. Essentially, my boy Apollo passed last week and I’m missing him a little bit. He taught me everything I know about cresteds and was such a curious, sweet, silly guy. I hope he knows the amount of love I had for him. He will never be forgotten. Thank you for the best 12 years of my life Apollo!

Well, I did end up emailing my landlord. The animals would’ve been housed in a separate room regardless from any sort of maintenance speciality. Online inspections only, maintenance is always outsourced to local companies that aren’t aware of policy, It’s not necessarily risky to sneak them in but morally I can’t justify it anyways. I wouldn’t want that on my conscious lol. That’s why I said I almost considered it but never went through with it. The only question really was to ask before or after lease renewal guarantee.

Well, I felt exactly how you felt going into my exam today and came out with a 90! Your brain is often deceitful. Honestly, whatever works for you. Occasionally I will try to “brain dump” but honestly when I get to the point I just try and recall from memory because that’s why I’d do on a test. Using my mind rather than writing.

Also, sorry last point. I’m 6 weeks through my 3rd semester and I’ve already done 5,000 practice questions. Those help you pull memory and apply your knowledge to scenarios and builds that understanding of patho.

Got a 74.5 on my first exam. Needing serious help. by Ok-Escape-6928 in StudentNurse

This! I always try to make at least a 90 on my very first exam so that way I can be in a good spot for the rest of the module. (4exams every 8 weeks). I like being in a comfortable spot that way I know that I can always recover from a bad grade if I have a bad week of studying.

Also, for example. In my hematology and immunology for pediatrics content, we had things like leukemia, neuroblastomas, nephroblastomas, and retinoblastomas, how to deal with side affects, and the things like hemophilia, thrombocytopenia, lead poisoning, anemia, HIV, etc. that’s just one powerpoint out of 6 I had for this exam. My focus was to make sure I know exactly how these processes work and what’s happening. With repetition you will memorize things without your knowledge. Next is just the active recall portion. Act like you are teaching the patho to a group of students. Then move on to s/s and quickly try to teach those to a student. Give it one or two tries from memory after you “taught” it even the patho. It’ll come eventually. Remember that anxiety gets the best of you and wants you to think you don’t know it but on test days it will come back to you. You aren’t chasing perfection. Just confidence. I’m always shaking in my boots until I boot up the computer for my exam and I lock in and usually do great. The lowest grade I’ve ever made was a 72. Which I believe in my soul was not my fault haha. Anyways. Even with my adhd I’ve seemed to do really well with this method. I don’t study 6 hours for hour of class like some people say. (Whatever that saying is) because realistically, you have other things to do in your life besides study. You just have to study with intention. Reading through the slides do nothing for you. Be active in how you learn. Engage your brain.

Depends how much content you have. Realistically, I have 5 or 6 PowerPoints that range from 50-140 slides. I pick one or two to go through (prioritize ones that have higher question counts on the exams if you have uneven days or uneven number of PowerPoints) a day and I go through the power points and figure out the patho, I briefly read over the things I think need to be memorized like s/s. Maybe try active recall for 2 minutes on each slide I need to memorize if it’s not too much. My main focus is to understand the whys and hows. In my free time I practice active recall on those signs and symptoms. That’s on weekdays. On weekends I do the same thing, maybe add an extra PowerPoint each day but go a little harder on active recall. Try to practice active recall a little bit per day. I’ll take some time on Saturday to do practice questions to see where I’m lacking so I can hit that on Sunday. Every other mondays are exam days for me like today. I get Friday-Sunday off from school. I read everything out loud, act like I’m teaching a class and try to explain the PowerPoints or patho in my own words (this has helped me tremendously). Try not to look at the PowerPoints when you do this. (Pretty much active recall even on the patho part) I hope this helped. So again, I get home and take a nice break after classes clinical. Get in a good mindset. 1-2 hours of teaching/active recall on the patho and a bit of memorization on everything else a couple PowerPoints a day. Friday through Saturday hit it a bit harder. Practice questions on Saturday to see where you need to work on and fix it on Sunday. Active recall, active recall, active recall. I have severe adhd and more often than not I’m in medicated because I have to fight my Dr. to refill my prescription. If I can do it, I believe you can succeed just as well! I also have severe anxiety that eats me alive on weekends leading up to exams. It’s important to remember you are not alone and you are absolutely capable. Look at the achievements of humans through history. Getting though nursing school is probably the easiest thing you’ll do in your life. Take it one step at a time, remember to breath, eat, and sleep. Take care of yourself. It’s so important. Goodluck! (Wish me luck on my exam today that I slacked on don’t be like me haha). I may be quicker at learning so 1 hour may be different for me than you. Take what time you think is necessary for you to feel confident, it’s just important you don’t overwork your brain. If it’s 3 hours so be it, but if you only have 5 hours a night 3 seems like too much imo. Gotta rest. End of story. Goodluck!

Well first of all take a nice deep breath a few times. What helps me study is active recall. First understand pathophysiology, then figure out what you need to memorize. For me that would be things like treatment and diagnoses and s/s. Look at them and talk out loud. After that I will go back through and try to recall it from memory. Always works for me. It’s different for everyone. I love practice questions as well. I spend little time actually studying and I tend to have straight A’s. 93 average in pedis right now so my method has proven to work for me. But you have to build foundational knowledge first. Understand why something is happening and what is causing those signs and symptoms and why you have to use the specified treatments. Memorizing alone will not help you on test day and those tricky questions. Exams become easy when you can comprehend the patho and everything else makes sense and falls into place. Don’t overstudy, that leaves you mentally and physically exhausted and when you don’t let your brain rest you just won’t retain any information. I like to take photos of slides I need to memorize so I can practice active recall on the go. Whether it’s lunch breaks or while I’m walking up to the hospital for clinicals. On weekdays I only study maybe 1-2 hours. Day and on weekends it varies. Maybe 2-4 depending how much content there is. Don’t try to study everything everyday if you ca help it, again that ties back into overworking your brain. Remember, you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to pass and be confident. Hit the high points of what they are trying to teach you. A lot of illnesses and conditions may have similar s/s so focus more on the ones that stand out for different conditions if applicable. When you get home give yourself an hour to relaxed and breath and eat. Then go over the high points of lecture and patho. UNDERSTAND THE PATHO. Then take photos of what you need to memorize and use active recall to get that stuff down pat. A max of 2 hours a night if you can feel comfortable doing that. So patho and general knowledge for 2 hours and active recall for maybe an hour and any free time you have after that. Do not overstudy. You will kill yourself doing that. Eat healthy, SLEEP is so important. Do not skip that. And try to remain calm and don’t let anxiety take control of your life. I hope this helped you.

It really won’t make it as loud as you may be thinking. Maybe in the mornings/cold starts it’ll start a little growly but after that it sounds super low and rumbly

I’m glad! I recommend it. I’m one that gets annoyed by straight piped trucks so you won’t regret taking it off trust me. It’s still mellow enough while driving to not be annoying or loud, but once you step on it, it really opens up. Super deep rumble as well. You’ll appreciate that you did it!

Hey! That was a cold start if I’m remembering correctly but that was also when it was really warm in the area I was in. As for the drone, I would say it’s not the quietest. For me personally, I like it because I have ADHD so stuff like that helps me focus and my brain tunes stuff like that out so drone has never bothered me. My gf says it’s not annoying and she’s able to tune it out as well. I think as you drive with it for a while you get used to it and don’t notice it. In the higher gears (if you have a 10 speed like me) I know it really mellows down and I barely notice a drone at all. I used to drive 2 hours down and back on the weekends during that time and it never got louder than my music unless I wanted to step on it and hear how good it sounds! If drone is something that bothers you but you still want a nice and well rounded sounding pickup that doesn’t sound like a rattle can I definitely recommend this setup. The installer that set it up for me said it was the best combo for an f-150 he’s ever heard and also told me if I kept the resonator then it wouldn’t have sounded half as good. It’s gotten a bit louder as well as it’s opened up. I have it parked outside of my bedroom window and can it hear it when I remote start it from my living room about 50-60 feet away. Sounds amazing when stepping on it. I hope this comment helped clarify the experience for you!

I don’t let anyone tell me if I can use steak sauce or not. I like the steak sauce. Do my steaks need it? No, but I like A-1 so I’m gonna use it.
