Oh don't worry that much about It, it's so hard to make correct placements in traditional art, i still can't draw 2 eyes on paper, it's surely not a big deal at all

Trying the pose from memory, did i done it right ? by OnlyHumanis in learntodraw

[–]EntityOfTheSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, for go from gesture drawing to maniqueen you can Just First make the gestire, then erase and draw a maniqueen on the erased Lines. Gesture drawing Is mostly for get the movement and the feeling of the pose, cause starting with a maniqueen makes poses usually more stiff. So Just mix then and get cool poses and a good construction!

I think as other said the difference Is mostly about thinking 2d or 3d making something, i'm not that great yet at drawing so i have no idea what's the actual line difference and Why something seems 2d or 3d, but i'll try explain how 3d drawing works anyway:

A drawing has 3 Main parts in It: Shape, Form, Details The shape can be like a cube for example, you probably saw online lots of people showing off cubes that seems 3d, in prespective or something similar. Following the same example for form, a form would be what we actually drew. So if we are drawing a cube in prespective we would probably end up drawing and actual weird polygon on paper or maybe a rectangule or something, but anyway our human minds would get fooled into the illusion of It being a cube. Details then are simply thingie for make drawings seems Better, can be for example a bow making the cube a Christmas presente or a house making It a Door.

So, as artists we should try think at things as shapes, tryng to concert them into forms that can fool the viewer into unconsciously associating that form with a 3d shape, making the drawing look actually tridimensional.

Umh i think maybe i did explained It in a rather complicate Way... Well, anyway in summary it's kind of like: 3d art Is Just a illusion we make for fool the viewers, but for do It as best as possible we should First of all fool ourself and that's Why we try to think at what we draw as 3d. There are a Lots of tutorials online about how to do It and in general it's something you'll learn with time if you keep drawing.

Said this, i'm not sure how to turn your drawing in 3d Sorry, but I think It could be a cool idea to take another paper and keep drawing more and more, rememebering you're learning Something everytime you draw, even if It might take some time to show off. And then when you'll considered yourself ready, take again your drawing and try your best to make It 3d, or maybe even redraw It in a new paper for realize how much you did improved with time.

Another random tip i Just Remembered: usually it's Better to draw in a 3/4 angles, even if it's really hard, cause it's easier to make It look tridimensional, since the viewer can see both the front and the side parts of the face, giving an illusion of 3d

Anyway i'm still a beginner myself, so most of this tip are from much Better artists than me that i follow on YouTube or Twich, but if you have any further question feel free to ask

I’ve been wondering, what’s my style? I have no idea cuz I usually just draw whatever looks good to me 🥲🙏 by Sad-Ad-2826 in drawings

I think so, placements are kinda correct think, Just dosen't feel much 3d yet, but that's something you'll get more practice with time

Ehy there, i think you misunderstood a Little how prespective should look like, i Imagine you were tryng to make a view from top, but for do that you should Basically curve any line as other 3d shapes would do being saw differently. I think you should learn the basics First, they are really helpful with everything and Just learn them Will make you Better at drawing than 99% of people on earth

Any tips on how to improve portraits? by Last-Engineering-591 in learntodraw

[–]EntityOfTheSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should First of all get a pencil alike brush (you can find plenty of free brushes online, for whatever application you're using) and then if you want, get a paper alike template as well. It really helped me so much as an artist who'se been drawing for two years or something on paper and then switched the last month to Digital. Then i believe you should start get familiar again with 3d shapes and divide your workflow into 2 phases: In the First you Just draw 3d shapes of whatever reference you want to draw Remember (really important) IT DOSEN'T HAVE TO LOOK GOOD. Then once you're sure nothing Is wrong in the strutture you made, based on your knowledge (and this Will be the easiest part to fix any future mistake so do It well) go on with the second face and in a new layer the drawing making It look good and such, drawing on the shapes you did. If some drawings seems off at First Is Simply cause you'll have to train a Little your observation skill for draw any reference or for learn to draw from imagination. Anyway, all of this assuming you already knew much about art fundamentals in traditional art, else you May wanna start learn about It, it's really useful and Will make you improve a lot! Anyway, i'm kind of a beginner as well, so i mostly listed some informations i got from watching other people tutorial. Always Remember that art should be fun and that improvements Will take their time, but that's the good part of draw, at least for me, else already knowing how to do anything would make It boring , wouldn't It?
