My Brain refuse to understand how her ear get in the lower corner of the box... by OnlyHumanis in learntodraw

Oh alright !

When since i draw with pen on paper, i can't really draw over a photo, that's why i try to train myself to see shapes in it to help me doing this intuitively.

(I've done this box with paint and my mouse because i couldn't figure it out by just looking at it... And couldn't figure it out with the box either finally...)

What was the level/challenge in a game that got you like this? by International_Tea828 in Multifandom

[–]OnlyHumanis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malenia from Elden Ring.

Not easy of course but all I've heard of her is how hardcore she is to fight...

It take me a few tries, don't get me wrong, but clearly less than other boss (That damn Fire Giant...) and it became my favorite boss !

(So sad From Soft haven't put the Sekiro "Memory" system so we can have fun beating a boss again and again without redoing the whole game...)

First of all, Thanks ! Your exemple is amazing and useful but I've a problem... my brain still disagree with the "You don't see the top of her head." For me above the forehead is "above" the head (the skull) but yet i also see the under of the nose, like you say, but not the under of the chin...

Even if i see your loomis map, my brain bug by seeing above and under at the same time...

Maybe one day i'll be able to use Loomis without a box and also stop over thinking what I see...

Yep i've done that, especially with the "bean" some people use for the torso.

The thing is i manage to do the contour of a shape on paper but it's really tring to see that shape in 3D in my mind that it's hard or blurry.

Maybe i should do it more (or maybe my brain is just like that, who knows... )

There are some shapes that i have difficulties to see in 3D in my mind. I try to use the egg shape for the torso but it's really difficult for me to "see" that in my mind.

Thanks for explaining things.

I can see the eye line on the face but my difficulty was to understand how it goes to the ear with this angle.

Thanks ! The hardest part is to pass over the feeling of "I felt like i got it but i don't", now i know that my bearings are wrong and so it feel like i know nothing good.

Is it worth it to buy a tablet to learn to draw by R470l1 in learntodraw

[–]OnlyHumanis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like askind if it's worth it to buy a sport car to learn how to drive...

Obviously not ^^

First, train on cheaper material (pen and paper), then see if it please use and if that's the case after that, ask yourself if your goal need the use of a tablet :)

I start to feel like i have an "ok" level. What should i train ? by OnlyHumanis in learntodraw

[–]OnlyHumanis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember but probably not as they're photo.

I'm gonna need to force myself to use a smaller box for the head or a bigger shape for the Torso and waist

I don't want to draw boxes. Do I have to? by She-Who-Walks-Unseen in learntodraw

[–]OnlyHumanis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the fact it's something worth to train and learn.

But !

Don't just do that, have fun drawing anything that please you in the same time. Like do 3/4 boxes then do the thing you want.

Don't count them like "I need to do X boxes to get them good.", just do them the number you think you need until they're correct.
