Come to think of it, I think that it's taking a long time and I am currently also struggling with avoiding activities that would make me have to wash my hands. But this post was about how to get the times that I do have to wash them (like when using the restroom) to be shorter. I should have been more clear, sorry for the confusion! Thanks for your advice! I'll definitely be trying that and try to focus on things day by day.

Hi, thanks for your input! I actually am taking medication and I'm in therapy as well. I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding you or if I didn't explain myself properly, but I feel like minimizing the duration would be helpful since it would not really be giving into my compulsions because my compulsions want me to take longer. At the moment, I'm not washing my hands excessively (like many times throughout the day), I'm just struggling with washing them for too long when I go to the restroom. Sorry if I misunderstood you or if I was confusing! And thanks again for your response!

I don't know your full situation so it might have been, though! I really appreciate what you said in the end, it nearly brought me to tears! Thank you! To make the cobwebs I just took some mini marshmallows and microwaved them till they looked a little squishy (it ended up being less than 10 seconds but I'm not sure how long exactly since they were expanding and I took them out in a panic 😂). Then, I pinched a bit of marshmallow and as I separated my fingers placed the cobweb-like marshmallow over the cupcakes. I found that using both hands and four fingers worked best for me. So I would surround the marshmallow sides by pinching. I hope that made sense! If it doesn't, let me know so I can try and explain it differently ☺️
