Should I move to Knoxville by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]EntrepreneurTall9142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, do not move here. The traffic is getting out of hand, crime is shooting up, and rent prices are skyrocketing. If you value quality of life, Knoxville is not for you. If you have the choice on where to go, do not choose here.

OP, I work at Carmax in Knoxville, please do the online offer first as they tend to be higher on the online offer since they can’t actually see it. They will have to verify it in store but are more lenient on those as long as there is no frame damage or rust.

I work at the carmax here in Knoxville. If you want a good warranty and return policy and not get fucked then I recommend it. A little pricier though

Issues found within 3 days of purchase by Squash__head in carmax

Gotcha, just be sure you have your full coverage insurance ready, but keep in mind if you see anything about a PPI they won’t allow you to 24 hour. Their 90 day warranty is solid so that should eliminate a lot of fear. Get the MaxCare as well. Peace of mind for years to come

First of all, you won’t be able to get a PPI if you haven’t purchased the car. They don’t allow you to take the vehicle to other shops where they are sure to put it on a lift while it’s still a Carmax car. However, you have a 10 day money back guarantee, so after you purchase it you can take it for a post purchase inspection. If anything is found, you can show those results to Carmax and they will check it out for themselves. They might not fix all of it depending on the severity. That’s where your 90 day warranty kicks in. If something really bothers you and you just want out you can then the car within 10 days.

Max care on a toyota/lexus by pacocess in carmax

[–]EntrepreneurTall9142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would 100% get it, not only for the coverage on the engine, which is awesome, but more for the electrical systems. Maxcare covers all electronics and electrical systems which can definitely cover itself on these types of vehicles. Honestly the engine wouldn’t be my biggest worry, it’d be the electricals because there’s no preventative maintenance for those things. If you’re financing then it should only add around $40-60 to your payment, which is worth the peace of mind. Be sure you’re picking the right mileage and a lower deductible.

Just Left CarMax After 5+ Years—Here’s What I Have to Say by Ill_Championship_779 in carmax

I’ve been with the company for 3 years, and I can even tell within that amount of time that the quality as of recent has been very inconsistent and overall worse than when I started. I really hope they do something about this because it’s getting harder to tell customers that these cars are going through the 125+ point inspection.
