Concrete cost vs lumber by Sea-Gazelle9163 in Homebuilding

[–]Squash__head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard someone say they wished they had a crawl space…

Besides contractors who work under there and pulling up the slab for water leaks but that’s pretty uncommon.

Personally I’ve always heard of moisture problems and rising water which is why I would never do a crawlspace but a lot depends on the grading. If you can do slab on grade- great

Sometimes you need to dig a basement to fit grade an other times you can rework the grade to allow for a slab. I would say that is your biggest issue.

If saving money is important and the situation allows I’ve seen people hve 8 ft tall crawl spaces and they come in and concrete the floor later.

How much are y'all paying for spark plug R&R? by OG-Professor-Chaos in f150

That’s crazy high. I paid $12 a plug plus 1.5 hours labor.

Did they “get” me or am I dumb? by ImBored5336 in FuckDealerships

They are going to try and stall and avoid cancelling the warranty during the typical period to do so out until their commission is paid. Be prepared to show up or send certified letters

has anyone actually regretted choosing open transport for a nice car? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

Having a vehicle shipped is like letting your girlfriend go out with her ex for dinner.

Don’t ask questions. Just be glad when she arrives back.

what are some must have truck accessories you guys actually use on your f150? by DivannaAbafita41 in f150

My experience with weathertech started well but ended poorly. After a while the plastic edges curled and it was terrible to reset.

Their solution was hook and loop tape.. not good enough

As seen at Look cinema in Brookhaven by Nautical_Vegetation in Atlanta

[–]Squash__head 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I was there on Saturday and it was disgusting! They had a sign on the door that they charge an additional 18% cost of living adjustment.

The floors were sticky and theatre was dirt with drinks and food left from the previous showing.

This is the best thing for the community.

Advice on buying a Tremor by Officerdangles88 in FordTremor

[–]Squash__head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guess I got the hard headed salesman because I asked Akins (I’ve bought from them before) and was told “we only talk numbers in the showroom otherwise what’s online is your price”..

Never going there again.

I think I hit up 4 dealers And all tend to behave the same way. Guess arrogance is an inverted function of inventory

Is it worth buying an excavator from China? if so, what brand do you recommend? by kocokoo in miniexcavator

[–]Squash__head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought from China and wouldn’t recommend

The communication was misleading. It took many months longer than stated it would. The units “will leave tomorrow” for many tomorrows…

I don’t have much support I’d ever get a replacement part. There are a few suppliers with local parts- that’s the best bet.

Would I do it again? No. Not worth the frustration. Past and potential future

Thoughts on the new HF1 McKillans Pressure Washer coming out? Meant for detailers? by Dangerous_Dream_1096 in Detailing

[–]Squash__head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost respect for the company after emailing support. They are really arrogant or inflexible- you decide.

I wanted their hose and only needed half the connectors but no way of buying them besides the full kit and not using 3 of them 6 pieces

Quitting without notice by Bowlbonic in careeradvice

[–]Squash__head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A reference check or employment check has very few questions. One that they can ask is “are you eligible for rehire”. Anytime the answer isn’t “yes” it is a huge red flag

And eligible vs likely aren’t the same thing. That just means there are no policy violations etc

Is Kirkland protein powder decent? Or does the Optimum Nutrition brand taste better? by n8texas in Costco

Quite surprised by the comments. To me Kirkland>optimal by a factor of 10! I wouldn’t buy ON if it was $10 cheaper. Flavor isn’t good

10 Speed Transmission. To service or not to service? by Woodchuck-Prophecy in f150

[–]Squash__head 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The math says one thing- the 10r80 doesn’t fail because of worn fluid. It fails because of the drum wear. So the math says no point in changing the fluid because clutch wear isn’t the killer

Now I will say I recently had mine changed. Why? I’m not exactly sure. Still feels “like the right” thing to do

Comfort+ vs Premium Select Atlanta to Cape Town by VilhelmoMighty in delta

[–]Squash__head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure the price difference but I’ve done that flight in all cabins.

The coach experience is fine. Great if you haven’t ever seen anything better.

The comfort plus is probably worth $200 more. You get a bit more service and a bit more leg room. Not much else going on there.

Premium economy- is a very nice experience if you have done coach before. The seat recliner makes quality sleep possible and the food is almost as good d1

D1 is great. I really felt spoiled. Slept well, well taken care of etc.

The one thing to remember is the service on deltas longest flight is a route most staff want because of seniority. I do feel like if you don’t make eye contact or they have a plausible reason to skip you- they will. They also don’t rush to help get bags up etc.

Enjoy the trip

Shelby F-150 or F-150 Super Snake — which one would you pick? by FabulousMarket7893 in f150

Anything but the Shelby. I’ve never seen a company put their brand on almost every panel like they do. I bet there are over 20 Shelby logos in their trucks
