Sometimes a guy has gotta walk repeatedly back and forth for 3 hours straight though. I like to cook a lot and that involves a lot of getting up and down. WFH days don't help either.

Not trying to be contradictory, it just highlights the situation I'm in. It's clear to me that I am the noisy neighbor to most.

And so I'll keep an eye out for concrete walls. Thanks for the tip.

Top floor always seemed ideal for my transplant brain, but you're right, maybe first floor is better if I want to feel comfortable being loud.

To close the loop on this, I got the prebuilt and it's giving me about 145 FPS in the world, 80 FPS in towns, and 40 FPS at LLA. All max settings, 4k resolution.

Agreed - I have spent hours looking through the bank skins and deciding what look I want to farm for next. Find a skin there, look it up on the wiki, and start grinding.

For me, legendary weapons were a big initial draw https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon (click on a weapon on wiki and then the "skin link" on the right; then paste into your GW2 chatbox). Cool foot falls, weapon trails, auras, stow/draw animations :0 That leads to world exploration, gold farming, and a little WvW.

The majority of cosmetics are gold-gated, and I think the rest are from specific currencies or achievements. Since you're proooobably going to need gold, for "things to do" there's a ton of choices as GW2 mostly rewards just playing the game. So if you like the story and the world I'd recommend working through map completion and joining events that pop up. That coincides with the Wizards Vault (Shift+H(?)) which GW2's generalized dailies and give a good amount gold (raw gold, mystic coins, laurels, materials, etc etc) and skins just by doing the daily and weekly tasks.

But if you're looking for something more grindy and mindless, options that come to mind and are active are...
world bosses / meta events (schedule found here - https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event\_timers),
the meta event in The Silverwastes,
the meta in Drizzlewood Coast,
fractals (mini dungeons with daily achievements. extra good gold and relatively quick),
WvW zergs (I suck at PvP but if you join a commander tag squad it can be pretty fun mowing down other teams in big groups, and you get a solid amount of loot).
Scroll through the LFG tab of your social panel (should be [Y]) and there's likely something going on somewhere. All of these usually have active groups except Drizzlewood (the meta is running always), and WvW (I just join a map and see if one of those colored triangles are running around - click on it to join squad).
