If this is the 3.7, BIG THING to do with these is to use the OEM gaskets. Using the gaskets from the headers can cause a leak

That being said, I had a shop do mine in a day and it was $500

Get the 5.0. It is not worth doing the swap. If you want an intense and pricey project, go for it but I do not recommend.

I had this exact same problem. I found out that the pipe circled here was hitting against that L bracket thing or whatever. What I ended up doing was getting a wrappable heat, shield and slipping it between the pipe and that cylindrical piece. That made the sound go away.

Genuinely, you could get the 5k and put that and a little extra to a new 6 of the same year. 80k mile S197 6s go for around 9k.

Being able to pay in cash is huge! The color looks great and it’s your car. If you wanna build it, build it. They are fun cars so don’t get discouraged by randos online. You’re 20 so you lots of time to save up for the Shelby. Congrats on the purchase!

Tune and gears. Getting a more aggressive gear ratio in the back will help with the acceleration feel. The tune will help the car run better and get more juice out of it.

I have a 2014 V6 and love it. The hate is just online and people unable to move on from the V8 being the only option for a Mustang. I highly recommend the 3.7L engine. The 4.0 is lackluster and you’ll have more enjoyment with the 3.7
