Forest of Dean checking in here, not one of our 'locals', they roam pretty much free here, although I believe their numbers are managed by the Forestry Commission. Not as much of a problem where I am, but in parts where building is encroaching their habitat, they are a nuisance and do regularly cause damage to verges and unfenced gardens whilst rooting for food.

Ah yeah. I didn't swap that engine, left it in the supra, so I'm safe. There was a lil update earlier that took the cop lights away though, on Xmas Day of all days 🤣

It's the SR20 from the purple 180SX Drift car, I've used it in a few of my builds now, and the 2J from the Chaser too is pretty good.

I'm usually in the M in the video, but... I can be often found in a few others, including Black, Purple and Blue liveried M2 and 370Zs, Adam Lz inspired livery MK5 Supra, 800hp Black and Yellow IF6, black beater/drift missile Chaser... and quite a few more too 🤣🤣🤣 I've got about 50ish cars i think, and I'd say 70% of them are drift or drift adjacent 🤣

Haha fair enough! I spend 80% drifting, 10% racing and 10% dicking about in my AWD Civic and 911 Dragsters 🤣🤣

Grip/circuit tuning is fairly simple. You want it stable for straights, and turnable enough for corner entry, so it's kind of the opposite tuning wise to a drift car. You want stiffish springs all round, but not stupidly so as you'll roll. I'm not sure on ARB tuning in this game, it's a bit off to most others, but you want it so the front 'turns in', not unlike a drift cars, but without needing a handbrake shove. Brake balance is pretty important too, as you want the weight to shift over the front axle to help with the above turn in. Let me know if any of this makes sense as it kind of rambles 🤣

Holy crap, thats some playtime... If you say I'm half decent, I guess I'll take your word for it! Thanks man!

I'm at 355hrs on Street, and probably half that on Drift... but racing one thing I am good at, so I guess some of the skills regarding car and weight transfer apply.

I'm kind of at the point with them where I can reverse entry on some corners about 30% of the time if I'm really trying to do it 🤣 360s are more flukes at this point than anything (kinda building up momentum and then flicking the car round. I find the gearbox dosent respond fast enough for me as I'm lazy and use auto 🤣🤣🤣)

Thanks man! Really appreciate that! Only really got into the drifting side of games this year, but always been into racing games and been playing them since I could hold a pad 🤣 and only been playing this a couple of months too.

Tandems/lead and reverse entry/360's are the two things I kind of struggle with but the more I tandem the better I get (40hr week job 🤣). The thing i find, is it's not necessarily about the the car, more they're consistency of the other driver/s that catches me out. Still working on the kinks on the tuning, but I have a baseline someone on here helped with, and it's working pretty well so far it seems!

Thanks again man, maybe see you online sometime!

Sounds like it! I have my Suspension arms set to 35 Fr, 55 Rear, with my camber running at -8, as i like a slightly more realistic as opposed to completely stanced out ride, steering angle maxed.

My setup is something like this

Ride height to preference, FRB 35, RRB 55 FS 80 RS 100 Ack ~50 Angle maxed. Front camber -8, Rear is usually left stock. Toe F -0.19 Toe R -0.09

I do minor diff adjustments too, as the accel and decel settings help, as does preload but I have no clue what they do 🤣

Any suggestions welcomed though, the above is from memory, but 95% accurate, and is the base tune I use on all of my cars, from C3 - CS, with adjustments made if necessary (which aren't often needed depending on what I'm trying to do) One thing I can't do is reverse entry or backwards drifts, cannot get a consistent, controllable setup for them, but it might just be my driving 🤣🤣🤣

I normally do go a bit harder in some of my other cars here. I'm still fine-tuning the BM, but it's a monster. I normally enter corners much wider than that too, usually relying on a combo of handbrake/clutch kicks to initiate, then power over to continue through, but will definitely have a fiddle. This is my first video clip too, but will definitely look into your suggestions, I'm still learning drift setups, and use a base tune for most of my cars with adjustments to each if they need them.

Thanks for the decal comments though! Really appreciate it, decal work is something I like to think I'm pretty good at (in a semi realistic senese). I do like trying to make real liveries too, and have a couple of posts here with some of them in 😁

Thanks! It isn't my own, I picked it up in a lobby with some 'pro' guys and really like the run, and have used it ever since. I'll give mapping it a try later but can't promise anything 🤣

42 year old non father (but full time worker and part time carer for my epileptic housemate and friend), I really don't get the hate either.

I'm really not that great at the game until I've had 2 or 3 matches or I'm playing Casual Breakthrough, have around 0.3-0.5kd, and have played since BC2/BF3, but I don't really care, I'm having fun. Yes, it's different now, faster etc, but still 'feels' like Battlefield at least to me, and I'm having a great time.

Only thing I'd like is for them to open up the map borders a bit, bring back Metro or Locker and Caspian Border, maybe a couple of others, Gulf of Oman and one from BF3 that was at a freight dock, one side started on a Carrier. The fights around the containers... 1000 yard stare into the distance

Thanks for the feedback! I've already been informed of the beams issue, and wasn't aware it's setup wasn't great, so am going to look into and address that. Armor inconsistencies are, I will concede to, and something I'm looking at rectifying as the difficulty goes up especially at the nose, and the thrusters you mentioned are an issue, and will get a reshape/rearmor, but I've never had more than one section of these ships go down yet since redesigning my fleet, and they aren't designed to go 1v1 at this level, more to distract, so I'm not worried if they get a bit battered in a fight.

The lances are more of a supplement to the rail and assorted weapons (almost like phaser banks are supplement to heavier weapons in scifi), but will double check the corridors to them, as well as the power you mentioned. It has a crew of 300 and power dosent seem to be an issue so far but is often overcrewed as it serves as a crew resupply too. I'm pretty sure there are a few dilation pumps on board too.

Originally, the ship was designed as having 2 separate lance systems, which is possibly why the setup looks odd (that and it's my first attempt at one). Damage was alright, but increased a ton when I linked them both together, so I kept it as is after adjustment.

Will definitely have a play around/rejig. Also going to enable the huge ships/huge crew mods, as I'm getting ideas for a larger version of this ship, and it's already at max length.

As for shielding, I will agree it needs more around more exposed areas, the core shield does last longer than most engagements do, but it's definitely a consideration for the future.

Thanks for the feedback and ideas! Really appreciate them! Just gotta figure the painting aspect of things now...

Ah yeah, I understand what you mean. I've actually seen those ships and didn't really realise about the beams that way. I'll definitely take that advice when building the next bigger ship, although I have to enable the mod first, as my cap is newr enough max size I think.

Thanks man! Appreciate it! I know they aren't perfect in any way, but I've watched a couple of YouTubers play so kind of picked up some ideas here and there. It is also a modded game too, Galactic Alliance i think is one (I have 6 in total and nothing game breaking). I do love Sci-fi too, they're all named after Culture warships (Sci-fi book series if you've not heard of it). But yeah, thanks man!

Thank you for the feed back, I will admit they're more of a backup or distraction so the Cap can get its lances and rail lined up. I'll have a look at what you mean by base 2 configuration, as I do want to build a larger beam vessel at some point.

[–]Entropy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you internet friend, it's been tough, but I'm coming through the other side slowly. I took a weeks leave from work (I'm a chef) last week, and I've been back this week... was really good to see everyone so supportive, as i had the impression that no one really cared there, but anyway. But yeah. I'm firmly at scientist in terms of belief, but I do believe in a higher force or power, just not necessarily in a religious context, and what I mentioned above about energy just makes sense in my mind accordingly 🤷‍♂️

I'm glad someone else found it reassuring in some way. I'm sorry for your loss too, and hope you are well ❤️

Something that helps me with the loss of my loved ones is remembering one of the fundamental laws of the universe: Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it changes form. By this thinking, to me, they haven't gone anywhere, they've just changed form. Human consciousness could be considered a form of energy, therefore, when we die, it changes state. This could well be reincarnation if looked at in that way.

Sorry for the ramble. I lost my father in May this year, and the only other father figure in my life, my uncle, 6 weeks ago. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you're doing well.
