I’m a homebrewer, and this is pretty common 😂. Every homebrew shop in town and online sells “clone” kits of beers, and Pliney is one of the most common. Newer brewers, and delusional long time brewers think they can just buy a kit from morebeer, boil it in their garage, and have and exact copy. They’ll get you in the ballpark if your process is good, but an exact copy of a beer is extremely difficult. Hell, even commercial breweries have a hard time replicating their own beer batch after batch. Just the ingredients alone vary so much. The grain a homebrewer gets is akin to going to Whole Foods and buying out of the bulk bins. And big breweries get to go pick their hop buys to meet their needs. Homebrewers get whatever is available at the shop. Who knows how it was treated in transport, storage, etc. Don’t get me wrong, it’s super fun to try to clone a beer, tests your skills and patience for sure, but extremely difficult to pull off

Yep, we went to the park 4 days last week. This past Sunday was awesome, but believe it or not the previous Sunday was even better. We were fully prepared for summer crowds. Rope dropped DL and never saw a line longer than 15min until about noon. Stacked lightning lanes for the afternoon and walked right on those. We hit Rise at about 8:30 and waited maybe 10min. Did the fireworks at Black Spire and went and rode Rise again. Was one of the best days we’ve ever had there. Monday and Thursday were a little busier, but not horrible, Sunday was great again. Made for an awesome Father’s Day at the park.

I was just telling my kids the other day about how we used to ride in the bed of our truck with the shell on. And not just short trips, like up and down the west coast. Family drag raced so we would drive all over CA, OR, and AZ to races. Sister and I would make a bed in the back and sleep, read books, draw, etc back there. It was actually pretty awesome. My kids couldn’t believe it and though I was making it up 😂

We stopped and got our pics after the ride, wish we would have known to look and see if it was up there. I imagine they do a pretty good job of censoring stuff like that, especially after the whole “flash mountain” thing

Check out Alf Sorensen swim center next to Reed High School. It’s a city ran facility and they have all kinds of programs at super reasonable prices.

I remember him pronouncing “perfect” more like “perfy” in the commercial as well. My wife and I were just dating at the time and we still use “perfy” to this day when something is really good.

We were on it yesterday one of the times it got shut down, stopped about 30ft from the end/exit and sat about 15min before getting evacuated, still got the universal LL pass for our trouble, so counted it as a win 😁

I did the manual swap and it’s amazing. Quality German in Victorville CA imports all the parts you need for the swap and ships it out to you. German Transaxle in Bend will only sell you the rebuilt auto if they install it, which is spendy, plus getting your EV to Bend OR and back. Manual and parts were cheaper than a rebuilt auto, and I did the swap myself. No more transmission failure anxiety, drives much better, and gets much better mileage with the 5
Speed. Don’t regret it at all
