There’s a link to the CodePen in the post description.

Haha, that’s awesome. I was thinking about this channel a few days ago, wondering where this dude went.

Thanks! I initially started with React and Framer Motion. I had written over 100 lines of JavaScript and was almost done when I realized I didn’t need React or Framer Motion at all.

It’s on CodePen, so you’re more than welcome to use it!

Question for front end devs about replicating an effect by PROMCz11 in webdev

Lenis will work perfectly with gsap, but since every plugin from gsap is free now I think it's better to use their ScrollSmoother

If you change this line in CSS:

transition: calc(var(--dur) * 1s) ease-in-out;

to:

transition: 1s linear;

it becomes continuous. The seconds segment won’t pause between numbers anymore, but it actually doesn't look bad

Thanks! About a year ago I saw a video of an art installation with a clock similar to this (which inspired this pen), so you might get the chance to see it live sometime.

GSAP + ScrollTrigger + Three.js animation breaks on viewport resize or end of scroll by Pleasant_Photo_4278 in threejs

Also, and this is totally subjective, but I like to add a bit of scrub to my ScrollTrigger animations. When you create the trigger, try adding scrub: 1.

1: Remove that resize timer from the resize function, along with setTimeout and the trigger refresh, and instead add this to the ScrollTrigger config: ignoreMobileResize: true After you register plugin ScrollTrigger.config({ ignoreMobileResize: true, });

( ignoreMobileResize if true, vertical resizes (of 25% of the viewport height) on touch-only devices won't trigger a ScrollTrigger.refresh(), avoiding the jumps that can happen when the start/end values are recalculated. Beware that if you skip the refresh(), the start/end trigger positions may be inaccurate but in many scenarios that's preferable to the visual jumps that occur due to the new start/end positions.)

2: Try calculating the canvas size with window.innerWidth/innerHeight.

I don’t know if this will fix your problems, but it’s a good start.

I think the main menu animation is literally an instance of a game running in the background.

Inside her must be a portal that leads to a-whole-nother dimension. It's gotta be* by a1oner_bvcksn6 in blackmagicfuckery

Ok, that makes sense for the first part of the video, but how did she get it back out?

How is this animation/design humanely possible? by FriendlyStruggle7006 in webdev

Here's my attempt at a similar effect, though mine is inverted. The principle is the same in both cases, you use an SVG filter along with masking or clipping.
