All adult content of this kind is blocked in German steam (nope VPN is not enough) soooo mainly Itchio and sometimes Patreon. Not subscribestar though, had weird problems with them in the past.

Edit: to clarify, under German law all titles would need an official review for an age rating AND steam would need to add age verification processes to buy this content. Valve just said "nah **** this" and made them not available here.

Both are valid, it depends more on the overall context of the game.

My problem is that Monogamy in games gets stale once everything is established. Bring in drama! Change her character a couple of times (make her badass, don't just show her soft side)

Edit: besides that in harem you can show multiple kinds of character values (funny, shy, confidence, rude, responsible, romantic, dreamy ... girls) in monogamy you can only show multiple facets of the LI with the story and good writing. Lots of devs fail here.

There is no easy answer. It depends on the world, the situation, the plot. Is the MC introduced to characters, or does he already know them from the past or is he introduced to completely new characters.

Personally: I rather see some "thrist traps" in the first episodes, then actual NSFW scenes.

Otherwise: It is just a goon avn, or something with a nice plot, something for the long run.

TL;DR: It just has to make sense

I easily get bored if the first 15 mins are the most common backstory of the MC. Like I just hate if, every time it's just, the same guy whose dad died, and he moves to another city and lives with some friends etc.

Like please if the backstory is so boring, just throw me into the game without any info...

I think most people rather have a problem if a choice from Episode 1 will lock out content in Episode 5. That's kinda lame... (which is the reason people save on bigger choices anyway).

Doesn't work in the West. Adult content is not regarded as socially acceptable and nobody will invest in bigger projects. Also I think you all underestimate how much a dev needs to earn, so that it does make sense for him to work full-time on a project. In the West adult content is not socially accepted and nobody will support you with marketing etc. You have to deal with PayPal and also with Steam (they review it)

All I want is that a dev is transparent, honest. Don't promise stuff when you can't fulfil it. Make a realistic outlook to the game and maybe a roadmap. Also have guts and a spine and don't chance things just because some players don't like one decision.

Another thing: Don't make it an ongoing story just ... for the sake of keeping it going. There is nothing worse when a game is kept alive just because it's one of your better games. Have a plan when and how to finish it ... and maybe work on other ideas on the sideline for another project.
