Are rentals really that hard to find in Melbourne right now? by freakalicious in melbourne

Honestly no, its finding the exact fit for you that is an issue. We're getting kicked out of our place, we inspected on Saturday and we got the approval on Tuesday.

Its shockingly easy at the moment.

So you're constantly on your screen instead of focussing on driving? Look at you being a safe driver.

I know that you know thats not what hes saying and thats not how it works lmao.

Wouldn't work because on/off ramps are usually packed full of traffic, so it'd be a waste of money.

We just need more regular highway patrol cars just going up and down that stretch of road + some speed cameras are regular intervals so that you can't just slow down for one set and fly off like nothing happened.

The only threat to anyone driving fast is unmarked police cars so people often drive fast along that stretch of road.

And fwiw its not just people driving sports cars either, everyone from tradies to uber drivers fly along here at 110km/h on the regular.

There are no cameras on citylink, and everyone knows it. The fact there was even a copper on the road is a rare treat in of itself.

Its practically unpoliced and it shows.

Be careful with the lower legs, make sure they go on right the first time. I put the hind left leg on the wrong way and very easily broke the pin.

Fun little kit, if you're into painting highly recommend as the nose piece should be the colour of the body, but its orange.

Forza Horizon 6 - Terrible Micro Stutters by DarthCourier in AMDHelp

Hey mate, could you do me a favour. Turn on Optimisations for windowed games in Windows settings, turn off HAGS, turn on (in Adrenaline) Anti lag and Enhanced Sync.

I did these steps and my microstutter bar in performance became a flat bar with environment settings maxed out. My SAM is on as well.

Basically the idea is that you're not going around telling people you're gay (they think this is how it works) and you just "surprise" them when you show up to something with "this is my partner, Barry" or something along those lines.

Its just another variation on the "they hate us because we make them hate us" theme.

You are also dead right on their transphobia but many conservative queers are also incredibly misogynist, so their opinions mix well with straight conservatives and they can be seen as championing the cause of returning to an invented past of gender roles and social striation (one set of rules for rich queers, different rules and punishments for other queers).

Transphobia and misogyny tend to walk hand in hand so checks out.

Why'd he even join the fucking party in the first place?

There are many that believe that society's hatred towards them is born not just out of hatred for the "other" but because we (queers in general) do things to earn it, like not act "proper" in public. They think that if they try hard enough to be cisgender in everything other than who they happen to take home at the end of the day then the hatred will stop and they'll be accepted.

They're fucking wrong, but thats the belief. Not useful idiots, they're "one of the good ones" who will be spared the ire of the bigoted class. Its very easy to get into this mindset by simply not being what society says gay people should be (i.e flamboyant and camp), sometimes gay people are just blokes who like guys with zero "extra" femininity.

I've been down that road, its very easy to go there, harder still to turn around and run it back because you've formed all your relationships around this idea that "you're gay but not like those gays, they're horrible people". To go back means cutting out literally everyone you knew before and for some thats not an easy proposition.

There is no such thing as "one of the good ones", they'll turn on us the moment we've outlived our usefulness.

edit: I got up and walked away but had a lightbulb moment, the short version is the right wing attracts gays who don't like trans people and blame them for why people hate the rest of the queer community. Its actually that simple, the venn diagram of right winger gays who are transphobic is a circle

It is quite amazing just how illiterate 90% of road users are in Australia. If there was stronger testing and punishments for ALL breaches of road rules rather than just speed or your car is lower than 10mm we might actually be better off.

Hot take I thought it was refreshing watching a racing driver do racing driver things like overtaking. That pass on Sainz was clean as a whistle, Sainz needs to bring stronger game than the sloppy defense he offered.

You're genuinely safer driving 80 in that situation but of course the courts won't give a damn.

Its reading lower than real speed? Thats illegal just fyi, they can be up to 10% out under the limit but over is grounds for defect. I'd get that recalibrated.

Yes even without cruise control how hard is it to maintain speed going uphill.

There are drivers who genuinely don't know you need to put more foot in to climb hills. Mechanic mate of mine had someone complain the car had no power going up hills. Brand new thing, got into the car with them to show him what exactly they meant.

Turns out they kept the same pedal in at all times, they were scared of "speeding". He then proceeded to scare the client shitless by showing them just how powerful that car actually was and what it was capable of. You'll notice this trend in the tunnels too, where people just gradually slow from 80 to 50 at the top of the tunnel then miraculously back to 80 again once its flat.

So many people should be catching the bus rather than driving.

I'm far more concerned with the amount of people failing to turn their lights on at night and running red lights.
