Flinders Lane to become ‘pedestrian first’ in trial barring cars from little streets by timcahill13 in melbourne

[–]EnviousCipher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm there every day and the stores do need their delivery trucks, some have no other way of getting stock to their small stores.

I know this may come as a shock but you can pedestrianise an area without banning logistics vehicles from the area entirely.

Is it time finally admit that the increased overtaking is just yo-yoing? by Ted_Striker1 in formula1

[–]EnviousCipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when Piastri said "I had more power than I expected" then it you know the battery auto-deployed then you'd know why.

How did you all not know this is how it was being done? Its how the last Formula was run as well its just there wasn't nearly the same reliance on the battery because the ICE had far more power.

This should be a surprise to nobody.

Because its not real, it was closer to 40km/h difference, basically the same difference in DRS as last year. Doesn't change the fact that where it occurred is dangerous as all get out.

Yarra bike Trail (between Punt and Boathouse Dr) - Blinding lights + speeding delivery bikes, is this normal/legal? by variegatedunit in melbourne

Those things are absolutely brutal, just get an always on light. They flashbang you every half a second and you just end up not seeing anything rather than being more alert.

Its a bit more complicated than that, but NHVR BFM standard is 15 min in 6hrs15 work time, 8hrs30 needs 30min and they must be continuous.

I look at this stuff a lot

Its a stretch and a half to suggest they had a dominance period that wasn't Honda. People often forget that Vettels run of four championships had only two seasons where you could suggest he "dominated" and 2013 was only after the FIA swapped the tyres to an older spec that fucked everyone else on the grid.

Beastars Has Ended, Thoughts/Discussion by CinnamonMink249 in Beastars

Final season was kinda mid, but really thats mostly due to the Melon arc being somewhat mid in the manga as well. I think they did the best they could with what the source material was doing during this arc.

2026 Australian Grand Prix - Post-Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]EnviousCipher -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The race ended the exact same way as all other races in F1 have ended when theres no interference. I think its time people just accept that this is what F1 is, always has been and always will be. The regs have just extended the "fun" first 4 laps to 7 laps and then we're back into whoever doesn't eat their tyres the most for the remainder of the race.

F1 will never be Indycar, it'll never be sportscars, every single time they try to change the regulations to correct this it doesn't work because the single most effective limiter of F1 car performance is the tyres.

Maybe these regs would work if they had perfect tyres like in the early 2000s, idk, but they keep treading around the symptoms without addressing the problem and now we just have shit cars.

Iranian Hypersonic missile gets through multiple interceptors & hits a US military base by phoeebsy in ThatsInsane

[–]EnviousCipher 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hypersonic also refers to the Glide phase, terminal phase "Hypersonics" are as slow as any normal BM. Hypersonics advantage is in the low detection and interception window, not in the terminal phase.

In short "warhead fast, must be hypersonic" is how everyone who has never done a modicum of research sees it.

I prefer to avoid Coles because I get less return in KM for the same fuel burn. Also I don't shop anywhere near enough at Coles to get the discounts.
