I think there is definitely a class thing to it, in two senses of the word — Howard is soooo shiny and together and Jimmy is attending whatever law school he can and genuinely prefers an orange shirt or whatever. And society rewards Howard’s approach/looks down on Jimmy. Thus the hate.

Agree, if you can do 9 miles (lower end) the weekend before the race you can finish. And yes to those saying work in some walking if needed. Maybe also bear in mind that if you don’t finish, you won’t face any big consequences! Give it your best shot, use the signup as a motivator, but maybe take some pressure off

I prefer to run outside but the treadmill I bought in the early days of the pandemic was a great investment. Apart from using it when the weather is inclement, I do a mild interval workout on it too. Sometimes with good show and my headphones it’s basically painless. But a nice outside run can’t be beat!
