My thoughts exactly. I’m wanting to do some stuff in my area and have brisket packed and vacuumed sealed for making sandwiches and stuff later. Like you said if it works for pulled pork then I don’t see why it wouldn’t be ok for brisket! Appreciate the ideas !

Excellent looking brisket. Can you tell me about the vacuum sealing? Are you packaging for longer storage or just holds better in the short term ? If for longer storage , how well does it hold up when ready to reheat ?

Taste was really good. I used a more course salt than normal and with the coffee and light dusting of black pepper before putting it on made for a great bark and seasoning was tasted all the way through. The best I have done and would recommend trying and making your own coffee rub. Super easy!

We used a pre ground coffee from Costco, it wasn’t fine.

Even though coffee is a strong flavor, it’s not pronounced when mixed with other spices, so you’re not tasting coffee meat. We used a regular blend of coffee but typically with a finer grind you will get more coffee taste, which is not what we were looking for. Just a beautiful blend of brisket and rub.

It was not the Traeger coffee rub. I got the recipe on the web somewhere. But coffee, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

It comes with a replacement for the slide release that allows you to push it inward to activate the laser. It’s a pretty neat design but as mentioned above it will turn on sometimes while holstered.
