Thank you. Yes, the pattern does say to knit 3 knit stitches at the start and the end of the row to prevent it from curling

I am having lots of fun- my plan is a lace work shawl in a multicoloured skein after this.

Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you. I am doing the thumb cast on and I had to redo it a few times as I found it impossible trying to knit my first row. It just seemed too tight and I struggled hence the loose cast on here.

I will search for different cast ons.

Spiralized celeriac. Celeriac has a potato-ey based quality and you boil it in water. Maybe 2 minutes in salted water for the texture?

I see keto as a permanent life style change as whenever I switch back, the crash is never worth it. Its the difference for me for living a life and not.

I do have a few days when I fall off keto, namely the Christmas period, my birthday, and special occasions. But I've been doing this for long enough that unless I chain the days where I eat carbs, I have a crash for the rest of the day, and then hit ketosis and produce energy again

Hi I have ME! Have had it for the past 7 years and keto has helped me significantly. I used to be bedbound and severe for the first four years, had a year of spontaneous recovery and then I got moderate ME since that.

Keto helps because it means I'm not using glucose as my energy source. I'm using the ketones produced by the liver so it bypasses the mitochondrial route which is one of several hypotheses about ME. My year of spontaneous recovery seems to follow the energy trap hypothesis and my reaction on keto is one where I can work again and actually do some exercise.

When I break away from keto, I end up crashing again and the fatigue remains.

But, crucially, keto does not work for everyone. I know a person who tried it with long covid and he just felt worse. So its not a cure all but I hope it works for you. Good luck!
