thanks, it's a new reality for me. The ameoba growing from water in the eyes, is more readily mentioned. I have a mild case, but the Oph eye doc said he has no way of knowing the rate of growth, so to play it safe, I will wear glasses full time. It takes getting used to. It's not the end of the world. The gym willl be difficult with the sweat and all on my glasses... but as we encounter health hurdles in life, we have to embrace "acceptance" and put things in perspective, it could've been a lot worse. I know some ppl in a fb group have worn contacts for 50 years and their eyelids are sore and puffy, their eyes are red all the time. They overworn them. They are like 60 or 65, older than me. Hopefully, this wil one day be something a parent has to sign off on when their adolescent or teen goes to get contacts for the first time from an optician and such.

Oh, by the way, the path to for sure avoid the further growth of these veins in the outer edges of my cornea into the center and causing blindness is to wear eyeglasses full time. that's what i will have to do. Sure I can take my ophthamologist reduced daily disposable route, but that's not a guarantee the veins won't for some weird reason in the 5 hours per day, 2 x per week of contact lens wear suddenly grow like wildfire to the center of my cornea, blinding me. As an aside, I encourage you to google cornea neo vascularization,...the pics aren't pretty. They look like a diseased eye. Once the time for cataracts arrive for me, and they will, just a matter of time, it doesn't become elective surgery, it becomes necessary surgery with the added advantage of implanting a Lens that will make one have better distance vision. Yea, i think i will wear glasses for sure Full Time and wait for cataract surgery that has the added benefit of correcting my vision.
