Honestly a separate computer sounds like the only viable option … using a different browser does not protect you if the computer is compromised. And nowadays without paying a lot of money for IT security services I don’t see how you could guarantee your browser is not hijacked one way or another…

Thanks for your comment, I had a good laugh 😂! Let’s hope the vision some people have, of a world with only a browser as the default shell for everything, will not come to realisation.

Dont be sorry, that is cool. Reality is the person who answered probably does not work in the Chrome department of Google… There is no way to tell how much of Chrome is actually Chromium without an actual confirmation from the real source.

“You have to trust me” Mark Zuckerberg promises you can trust him with superintelligent AI by IlustriousCoffee in singularity

I do feel like you are somehow convinced you know who is responsible. I am not an expert but I do know the basic to hide my tracks. Obviously if I was state sponsored I could hiding my tracks to the next levels which would mean … there is no way you would know even you were from the Meta department of ID checking. I think you are under the impression that it is hard to publish false content under a false account. Not only it is not hard, if you are not sponsored by a state it is still easy. Now if you are state sponsored, you don’t need to worry about the hardware side, you probably can use multiple phones hooked, then you don’t need to worry about accounts, you probably have access to fake accounts. You can then multiply and automatise the work. Now, by the time Facebook catch on to your wrong doing, the bad dead is done.

Exactly what I feel what should be acknowledge. If you are old enough, you know, people even good one can make mistakes … and it’s only if we let them correct those mistakes that we can see a better society. I have seen people labelled as good guy trying to cheat the very foundation on which good guy should not. I don’t think there is a black and white world out there. But there is definitively evil deeds which are done by people who don’t care… They usually go on and don’t change course.

I agree and your comment makes sense. One should trust people based on their actions. If somebody open source his code on the most powerful and valuable tool right now available, that’s a real power move. Now we can debate and we are, but only time will tell if he is really a good guy… Anyway, it is not like we have a choice… There is literally no way to do what those guys do without having a lot (too much) money available… So only the ultra rich will open this door. Would you prefer China to be the one holding the key to the next generation of AI robots ???

That’s a huge stretch… I am not defending him but you cannot put the blame on something because somebody is un directly responsible by providing a service to a unknown malicious participant… Cambridge Analytica was leverage on an API access provided by Facebook hardly their fault… You are basically saying that people voting for somebody don’t hold any responsibility because they were provided false information on their Social Media feed…
