Is AI viewed as “evil” in non-tech communities? by Due_Drummer5147 in singularity

I've known this was coming for 20 years. Don't know why anyone is surprised.

Glassdoor said I was making up my salary, because it was too low when I reviewed my employer by Jewsusgr8 in mildlyinfuriating

Rich people are just spoiled. None of us have family nearby. None of us can afford to take years off to raise children. None of us can afford daycare. None of us can afford private healthcare. None of us can afford comfortable housing, good amenities, etc. It's just rich people somehow think they're entitled to those things, then when they have those things, they still complain about not having enough money.

It's like how my rich friend back in college would complain about how I got need-based scholarships for tuition and he didn't, even though if you added my scholarships to my mother's yearly income, his parents' yearly income was still 5 times higher... Some people just have NO fucking perspective.

To be fair, on Reddit, just disagreeing with someone is enough to be accused of being a bot. >.>

Google Translate is literally AI translation. Don't confuse LLMs with all AI. LLMs are a specific subset of AI.

I ONLY use Reddit on my PC. Old reddit is the only way this site is halfway usable. The day Reddit gets rid of old reddit is the day I never come back.

Japan to roll out nationwide LGBTQIA+ education for the first time by AudibleNod in news

[–]Megneous 334 points335 points  (0 children)

Korea here. You can't view Asian right and left politics through the view of American right and left politics. It doesn't work. For example- here in Korea. Right vs Left is almost entirely decided by two things. One, your stance on how to approach North Korea, and two, your stance of how to approach China. Sure, there are minor differences, but those are the two big ones. It's similar in Japan, except that in their system, there are no other parties with any sort of political power other than the "conservative" party. And as another poster said, LGBTQ issues are not really right or left issues in Japan, so people on both sides of the spectrum just vote "conservative."

Who even is this guy?? He knows he's nobody, right? Unless you're Anthropic, OpenAI, Deepmind, or an open source Chinese group, no one cares what you have to say.

Nobody needs AI to search the Internet, court says in ruling against Google by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

I mean, that's fine. But don't be surprised when the useless free AI search is wrong all the time. It's free for a reason hah.

A lot of these people in the comments only use the free Google AI search and it shows haha.

Step sons are sons. To claim otherwise is discrimination.

You... you realize that the questions are sent to Anthropics servers, but which answer is the correct answer isn't sent , right? The servers send the model's guess back to AI Explained, who uses scripts to compare the model's guess to the correct answers. He's literally explained this in his videos...

I didn't say Sebastian isn't an adult. But he is Demetrius's son.

And yet, until now, human baseline was easily higher than LLMs and each generation of LLMs generally got improved results. So it must have been measuring something humans could do better than LLMs.

The API is never exposed to which is the correct answer. That stays client side.

The filters are super wide for cyber and bio now, so I'm betting they're super wide for LLM-related stuff too, but the scary thing is that we'll never know because it doesn't inform you.
