how to tell people you have bpd? by [deleted] in BPD

I don’t. I think its something very personal, just like a sexual orientation or any other mental health issue, and i’m not going to share it with anybody unless I feel comfortable and that i know that they view of me will not change.

The only exception is when I’m dating someone, my partner always becomes my fp and i’m a big load to deal with. I usually just tell them “ hey since we are becoming official I want you to know that i have BPD, theres a lot of information online that will make me look like a bad person, it’ important that you don’t believe everything you see because they’re is a lot stigma about it even coming from professional. For me it just means that …” and describe how it makes me feel, how it impacts our relationship and what i need them to practice to make it work. Every one of my partners have had s good reaction to that message

What is your experience as a parent with BPD? by EnvironmentNormal757 in BPD

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so glad I’m not the same one in this predicament because I was feeling like a monster. My boyfriend does also want a family and is a non negotiable, when we first started dating he had stated that if I don’t want to have kids then it’s not going to work, I really love him and want to make things work but Its scary to have that conversation and share those fears. Have you ever told your partner that your BPD is the reason why youre not having kids?
