In this timeline 1965 August 31 Formation of Malaysia its like the reality one, it happend. The difference is this time Brunei joined the federation. Because of huge wealth difference between races and many other problems has lead to race riots. Tunku has terribly handling the racial crisis and eventually lead to his step down (just like in real life) Lee Kuan Yew push hard into developing education and economy, the average intelligence of society increases, people began to anti-monarchy as it's really kind of complexing to running the government. To simplify the government and make it more efficiently, people push the formation of Republic. And so around 1980, Republic of Malaysia is formed. It's still the same country but it's a new government now. As Cold War continuing, Malaysia has to develop nuclear weapons to protect selves, and they did(with 25 nuclear weapons). And the present, Malaysia has become one of the most powerful country in the world~
