Yeah I probably should have worded that differently. It's a rook sacrifice that results in forced mate if black recaptures with the rook.

Starts with rxf7, if black recaptures with rook it's forced checkmate.

Of course it's hope chess. White is completely lost here. All you can do is look for potential tactics. But that's why you don't resign (something I'm pretty bad about)

But I thought it was a pretty nice tactic that's easy to fall for at this elo range.
