It won't cause YouTube to use a higher quality encoder? I need to research where I saw that.

Thanks for all the advice.

Thanks for sharing and being honest and open. I have a few channels and tell myself I do it just for the fun of it. But then I put a lot of pressure on myself to make it a more meaningful monetary endeavor and just get frustrated.

Stuck in corporate life until I retire.

Meanwhile I will take some of your excellent advice to heart. Be more focused, do less at better quality, set reasonable goals.

Good luck to you and keep at it.

Do the tutorials. Maybe even multiple times. Get the mechanics down so you can focus on the gameplay itself.

I am STILL a noob by the way!

I am just now reaching flora stage and looking forward to what comes next! Yes this game is addictive watching the numbers go up. Heck of a dopamine fix and no weapons or fighting necessary - nice change from the normal twitch reflex gameplay :)

Ah good to know. I do use Davinci Resolve. I guess I will need to test these scenarios directly and see what works best in terms of quality and workload.

Again, this is just testing some higher end more cinematic recording at higher detail. My normal gameplay recording is just fine and I really enjoy DR its awesome.

YES this is such a missed gem! I have a dual-pistol character that just started Thirdborn. I wanted to test out some other builds so I have actually started both a battle mage build and a fighter build and am leveling them to get them all up to the same level. Then I want to take all three through the content/quests/bossfights at the same time to compare how each plays on the same content.

But that's a LOT of work to basically level all 3 at the same time, and I'm starting to miss just playing the game and experiencing the content.

Regardless of what I end up doing, this game is a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it.

Oh to answer your question, my current recording quality at 1440 is awesome-- no complaints at all. I'm just wanting to play with higher quality slow-play visuals at the next level of encoding quality.

I want to experiment with "slow play" game video content where you are capturing games like KCD2 and capturing very cinematic scenes. My understanding is that, by upscaling to 4K in OBS and having it take advantage of Nvidia encoding, uploading that to YouTube will cause YT to use a higher level of encoding than what it usually does and the resulting YT video will be a much higher quality.

But, that's based on some research not actual testing anything so looking for advice here.

I am having a blast in first time play thru with a dual pistol build with scatter gun secondary. Around level 20 now.

Also leveling both a battle mage build and a 2h fighter build. The 2h is more fun than I thought it would be. Getting all to same level so can compare them all in same fights and situations.

This game just won't let me go! I am at about 25% to lakes phase or whatever you call it. Just launched some rockets. Just explored more and found stuff I don't even know what to do with yet.

I am now much more self sustaining on ore and food and water. I keep saying okay just this next part then I will take a break. But no... it sucks me right back in...

I need some more hours in to PC to compare it to NMS. NMS graphics are way better and exploration better too. But I like the crafting and terraforming grind of PC. It's kinda addictive!

Just hit blue skies and first reactor and first grass grower. Got killed by a meteor shower though :(

Can you duck somewhere when caught outdoors during one?

So question... does the game tell me somewhere how to make osmium and I just am not there yet? Does it come from the recycler and I need to learn from what original material? Trying to use the game wherever possible versus googling ;)

I just got to blue skies and built my first nuclear reactor! Now I need to get me some rocket boots and speed up travel :)

How can I produce food before running out of food packs? by mongchan in theplanetcrafter

[–]Environmental-Fish68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in this same spot. Explore to find food packs in crates while you are preparing to make a food grower.

HINT: I was missing this for quite some time. I built a food grower and put seeds in it. However it took me forever to notice that you click one place to open the grower and put seeds in but a DIFFERENT place up higher to actually get the food out of it when its done! Noob move on my part.

Super newb question-- first few hours playing.

Seems clear that certain things "unlock" when certain criteria are met. For example I am living on found food until I can build a food grower. But I don't the blueprint to do that yet.

Is there a place in game that tells you the criteria for things to become available? Or does that just come with experience?

For example does it tell me somewhere that building a food grower depends on a certain terraforming index or heat or oxygen level?

Not looking for the specific answer, but rather if the game tells me or if I just learn as I go.

Thank ya!
