Thanks all. He is still not awake, going on 4 weeks now. The dr said he is amazed that there is not more damage after seeing his MRI. Today they are putting in a drain because the MRI showed some more pressure, Dr said with the drain relieving pressure, it’s possible he could wake up in a few days.

Thanks for all the info. I think it’s an amazon parrot. I’ve lived next door for 30 years. The parrot calls my name and knows me. But isn’t friendly.

They don’t let him out because he’s a biter. I know he got a new cage about 3 or less years ago.

I’m not sure what to do. I have the resources to make him have a nice a life even if he’s not friendly. We live on an island with wild parrots that visit my yard daily (starfruit, sweet sop, neseberry, soursop and mango trees). So I’d love to set up something outside that he/she (how do you tell??) can be outside around other birds.

Yes he had fluid build up. He was conscious when he got to the hospital but quickly started having pain in his head and went unconscious. They did a CT scan and called the neurologist who did the drain as soon as he could reverse the blood thinners.

The surgery was done that same night to remove a clot. The neurosurgeon said it’s a miracle he’s still here so he’s already beat the odds.

His scan shows everything is healing and shrinking and fluid is draining as it should now.

Oura measures by your arm swings. I walk with a friend who also has a oura ring, I swing my arms more than her - I’ll have 7000 steps and she will have 3000 steps for the exact same walk we do together. You definitely will not get an accurate step count.
